Live Thread: Senate Amnesty Debate (CRITICAL 2ND CLOTURE VOTE TODAY!) Woo hoo!! It's DEAD!!
The U.S. Senate with Free Republic Input | June 28, 2007 | truthkeeper

Posted on 06/28/2007 6:25:57 AM PDT by truthkeeper

Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.

On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.

Has anyone seen the final version of the bill? If so, can you provide a link? I’d like to take a look at it and see how the Masters of the Universe tweaked it under cover of darkness.

I’m in NY.

But....the flowers don’t *have* to be hand-delivered....I often send them via telephone.....and have been told, previous orders, they were beautiful.....

Excellent ... does anyone know where I can get a list like that “time stamped” so I can tell who withheld their vote until the count became obvious? I’d like to know the sequence, particularly when mine voted. It would be helpful for all of us to know not only the traitors, but the cowards.

Dead?

Since Reid stated he'd pull the bill if cloture failed, I expected his little closing pout to include words to that effect. Instead he talked about having a lot of work to do, then we got sheets shaking through a comic bit about birthdays...

They resurrected this beast once, are we sure it isn't just getting primed for another day's faux debate and another cloture vote next week?

PS: brace yourselves for a ton of news items about the terrible threats 'we' made against bipartisanship and immigrants of all types.

Amen. I’ve been praying, “Thy will be done, not mine,” all morning. That’s often the hardest prayer.

The guy voted with us this time and last time also. Had he voted for cloture the first time, it would have passed. Give him a break! Good for you Sen. Byrd.

Soo..may I be the first to say where's the fence??? ......and we still have the same crummy immigration laws. So how's that working for you for the next two years?

Who did you say won today again?

Just include their names on the card.

Yes, excellent suggestion...I will indeed do that. Knowing the fine gentleman Jeff Sessions is, he will pass the flowers around to the other offices if he gets inundated anyway...which I highly suspect he will.

I am surprised at Harkin of Iowa - wasn’t he pro illegal aliens? Also at Warner of Virginia.

Please join me and my family in hanging your flag in front of your house today!!

We live in view of the Beautiful Pacific so our flag will shine to the Western Sea. Hopefully those of you on the Eastern Seaboard will show all to the East that America still lives, that we WILL NOT surrender to the Forces of Evil who seek to dominate us!

“Brownback voted yes ... then changed when it was obvious the bill was going down.
It’s amazing the arrogance and gutlessness that can coexist in one individual.”

As far as I am concerned, any Senator who voted YES for cloture on Tuesday, needs to be voted out of office. They can not be trusted to represent the people of their states. So Brownback chaning to NO on cloture today, does not cut it with me. HE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED!
