What's the Rush?

That's the question Bobby Schindler asked in the case involving Jesse Ramirez, the Arizona man whose case paralleled that of Schindler's sister, Terri Schiavo, until Ramirez woke up. The Arizona Republic reports:

...Bobby Schindler of the Florida-based Terri Schindler Shiavo Foundation placed the blame on a medical establishment quick to dismiss patients with brain injuries.

Schindler is the brother of Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged Florida woman who died in 2005 after a decades-long court battle.

"What is the rush?" he asked. "This is not the first time we've heard of cases like this where doctors want to write off the chance of recovery, and the family, when they're told this, will make a decision to end a person's life.

"In the case of Mr. Ramirez, he'd be dead now."

Why is Jesse alive? His family sought legal intervention with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund:
His siblings and parents refused to give him up for dead, and today, Jesse Ramirez is alive and conscious.

Two weeks ago, he was the center of a family battling over of whether he should live or die.

Now, he can hug and kiss, nod his head, answer yes and no questions, give a thumbs-up sign and sit in a chair.

Surprise, surprise!

Thread by Free ThinkerNY. Thanks to TheSarce.

Remember "Kurtlar Vadisi - Irak," the Turkish state-sponsored anti-American, anti-Semitic movie that alleges a new blood libel of Jewish, American, and U.S. Army doctors killing Muslims to harvest their organs? It starred Gary Busey as the Jewish-American Army doctor who killed Muslims for organs for Jews in New York, Tel Aviv, and London. Both I and my father, H.L. Schlussel, MD, wrote about it on this site.

Well, guess what? In real life, guess who's actually murdering whom to harvest organs? It's the other way around. A Muslim doctor, Dr. Hootan Roozrokh, murdered his patient to harvest his organs. And--surprise!--the Muslim doctor was raised here in America. So much for America moderating Muslims, more like the other way around (only no "moderating" involved). And this one is truly disgusting, since the victim is a helpless, disabled young person. Add Dr. Roozrokh to my list of Muslim Doctor Jihadists and Terrorists.

Here is another thread on the organ harvest, this by Bladerunnuh. Thanks to TheSarce.

A doctor has been charged with deliberately hastening the death of a disabled man so that he could harvest his kidneys for another patient, in the first case of its kind in America.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A man with severe brain injuries who spent six years in a near-vegetative state can now chew his food, watch a movie and talk with family thanks to a brain pacemaker that may change the way such patients are treated, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday.

A horrible case. Nancy Grace covered it the other day. I was going to post it, but couldn’t get on the Internet. She also supported Terri.

“The San Francisco transplant surgeon charged with three felonies in connection with a failed organ harvest in San Luis Obispo last year was booked at County Jail late Tuesday and released after posting $10,000 bail.”

Glad he was at least booked, but I wonder if he’s the only “doctor” who was ever charged for this kind of murder.

Do they remove the useable organs befor starving and dehydrating the patients? What percentage of patients has the organs removed first?

No. Removing vital organs kills the patient.

10k? That’s a pretty small amount to post bail for those kinds of felony charges. Yeah, why am I not surprised :(

Wagglebee has already done a thread on this article by Carrie Hutchens in The Dakota Voice.

I was reading, "Brain-Injured Man Speaks After 6 Years" by Malcolm Ritter, AP Science Writer, (New York - Aug 1, 2007 -AP) and I just knew somewhere in the article, it was going to suggest that this case was unlike Terri Schiavo's. Had to read almost to the end, but as faithful as the sun coming up every morning and going down every evening -- there it was. "He noted that a similar treatment did not help Terri Schiavo, the Florida woman in a vegetative state whose care triggered national controversy before her death in 2005. That's the typical outcome for electrical brain stimulation in vegetative states, he said."

Oh really?

This comes from Bend, Oregon...

The "Reagan Coalition," as Connor termed it, "brought the Republicans great success, including occupancy of the White House and twelve years of control over the House of Representatives."

According to Connor, a trial lawyer who represented former Florida Governor Jeb Bush in the Terri Schiavo case and who formerly headed up the powerful Washington, DC-based Family Research Council, "the most influential among the economic conservatives" are what he calls the "blue bloods"; they "are fiscally conservative, but often socially liberal." Connor's "blue bloods" are interested in "money and power and see politics as a means of increasing both." Contributing to political campaigns is seen as a "cost of doing business" and they expect to receive a "return on investment," which usually "comes in the form of tax breaks, financial subsidies, or limited accountability for their misconduct."

The story is covered in Canada. Each time, predictably, they MUST post a disclaimer that the Electrode method may help anyone in the world EXCEPT Terri. I guess they couldn't imagine the horrible repurcussions if the world found out Terri was simply murdered.

Dr. James Bernat, a professor of neurology at Dartmouth Medical School who didn't participate in the new work, called the Nature report exciting and important. Further study is needed to shed light on how many patients would respond and how to identify the minimally conscious patients with the best chance of being helped, he said.

He noted that a similar treatment did not help Terri Schiavo, the Florida woman in a vegetative state whose care triggered national controversy before her death in 2005. That's the typical outcome for electrical brain stimulation in vegetative states, he said.

Just couldn't help adding that sentence, could he?

And those in power who could have saved Terri, refused to do it.

Carrie Hutchens is right on. Saying that a new treatment would not have helped Terri is part of the death-trip rites. It is heard throughout the media and in dark pits and slimy swamps. National Public Radio chants it in its patented tone of nasal arrogance. It is litany.

That way they don't have to look at facts. They simply repeat what they hear in their clique, whom they identify by pheromones and secret handshakes and Che Guevara tee shirts and sexual peculiarities and a wholly inexplicable capacity to admire Cindy Sheehan.

"Fiscally conservative" means socialist. Socially liberal also means socialist. A person who is fiscally conservative but socially liberal is a socialist's socialist and cannot be trusted with a hot stove. If you find one, call the guards and count your silverware.

In several articles where a person was described as “fiscally conservative” it meant he/she was not a conservative and this apparently was meant to confuse readers.

Yes, it is meant to confuse. "Fiscally conservative" is word twisting to hide a tax increaser. It's somebody who wants to increase spending of your money for more socialist claptrap, then is "responsible" enough to raise your taxes and take more of your money to "balance the budget." He has both of his hands in your pockets.

Isn't it wonderful what liberals can do with words?

Salvation has a thread on this topic so closely related to what happened to Terri.

The following is an excerpt from my upcoming book on exorcism. One chapter of the book is entitled, "Pro-Life and Exorcism" and is devoted to reflecting on the evil of abortion from a spiritual perspective. As a caution for those who may not be accustomed to the language of spiritual warfare, I would mention that the view of abortion contained in the passage below is derived primarily from Jesus' presentation of the devil as "a murderer from the beginning" (Jn 8:44) and from scriptural passages that identify other demons who collaborate with Satan in his attempt to destroy the very life of God's children. Make sure to pray as you read this passage.

The spiritual dimension of this grisly "business" is its systematizing of ritual blood sacrifice to the god of child murder, Moloch, who we know of from the severe condemnations of him in the Old Testament (Lev 18:21, 20:2-5, 1 Kings 11:5.33, 2 Kings 23:13 and Zephaniah 1:5). This demon of murder appears in many forms and cultures through history (Phoenician, Carthaginian, Canaanite, Celt, Indian, Aztec and others) but is always the same bloodthirsty beast that demands the killing of children as his form of worship. This demon is not content with a single act of murder here and there. His insatiable appetite for the death of innocents seeks public endorsement to justify his gruesome deeds, and he needs a systematic expression of it to increase his worship.
