The problem in Britain is huge because a) they were a colonial power, who gave rights of entry to citizens former colonies, eg what is now Pakistan, and

b) at the same time became a socialist state where money has been used as the means to keep everyone “stable” if not “happy.”

This has created an almost unstoppable cauldron of “unhappy” dangerous people living all over the country.

The UK also acted as a sanctuary (or "political asylum") for Islamists who had been convicted in other countries (Middle Eastern and European) of terrorist activities. They ignored pleas from the French to extradite certain characters and it was the French who originally gave London the title of "Londonistan." Our own FBI wanted to get their hands on certain of these people, who were involved in planning terrorist activities in the US, but the UK wouldn't allow this.

The FBI had warned MI5 about one of the characters who later became one of the London subway bombers. (He was connected to a cell in Brooklyn.)

Before 7/7/2005, MI5 thought they had the situation under control - they would give these guys political asylum and government benefits, and leave them alone to do their plotting and incitement. And in return, there would be no violent activities committed in the UK. But al Qaeda got impatient and told the Islamists to get with it, as far as the UK was concerned. And on 7/7/2005, MI5 got its wakeup call.

Political goals are not achieved by fillbustering the other guy's bill. Please spare me the usual overly emotion bluster this week. I have no more patients for the childish posturing and macho boy 'Net warrior sloganeering that is used in place of reason on this issue. Everyone knows FULL well building the 700 miles of fence is NOT going to solve the problem that got you Antis all riled up in the 1st place. So please, try addressing the point ONE time instead of merely posting your usual emotional knee jerk responses. It getting really old the way you simply ignore any facts that do not simply validate your emotional dogma on this issue.

To start with. You been in the Govt. It is utterly absurd to expect the US Govt to build you a billion worth of fence in 6 months. NOTHING the Govt does is every done without about a zillion meetings and “studies”. It took over 60 days for the US Govt to FINALLY get some troops deployed to Afghanistan in the fall of 2001! And that was war!

The US Fed Govt is just incredibly cumbersome when ever it trys to do anything. That is just painful reality. Going into hysteric and screaming about mythical foes out to sabatouge the fence is pure demagogary. The Fence bill JUST got signed into law 8 months ago!!!! So calm down. This political demagoguery on the Fence is just pure self serving political drivel as anyone who bothers to actually think, instead of just emote, on this issue knows

Now HERE is my point. RESPOND to this one time instead of merely reposing your pre programed responses.

Right now we are back to maintaining the status quo on the border. That is SUPPOSE to be the reason we “have to do something about the border” because the status quo is “Destroying the country”

Here is how this issue developed.

Some on the Right screamed for years “We got to do something about the border, Illegals are destroying the country”.

So DC been trying to do somethings. It hasn’t been 100% acceptable to either side but it tired. So far nothing has got done. So that means, the status quo is still in place. The same status quo which is suppose to be the reason DC needs to do something right this very second about Illegals.

Last week you fillbustered a bad bill, you did NOTHING to fix the problems you all have been raging about for years. Merely preventing the other guy from winning is NOT the same thing as winning the war.

Somewhere, I heard someone say the VP was more interested in the FARMERS, not the fish. This must be why.

Many of the muzzies are hopelessly brainwashed. So bad that the other "moderate" muzzies are afraid to speak out against them(at least that is the excuse they use).

The fact that it originates at area mosques is nothing new. It's like saying bad guys are crossing the border.DUhhhhhHUhhhh!!!

This problem like others is not going to be solved by the Feds, they don't have the desire, will, or guts.

It will only be solved locally. We will wind up being a nation of cities that are worthwhile living in and and "sanctuary cities" controlled by those with the most guns, fire bombs, explosives or later on dirty bombs.

Love this comment “It is sad that the Democrats in Congress want to investigate rather than legislate,” Cheney spokeswoman Megan McGinn said.

Seriously thought this is ridiculous Cheney asked for investigation to justify the report, investigation said that there was not justification therefore farmers got the water. Surely if any investigation is needed it is on those that did the report not the person that asked for it. Has the world gone crazy.

Good to see them being rounded up.

Has the “esteemed” Mayor of London commented on this yet?

Which is crazy since he is a fisherman, he asked for a report got one and acted upon its findings if the report was wrong then investigate those that gave the report not the person who commissioned it.

And the sad thing after all the effort made is that we are still in the same position of looking local for relief.

All politics are local. Except for President and Vice-President, you and I never have an opportunity to vote for the same candidate for the same office. Local leadership can make decisions based on actual citizen input, not just a slick-haired lobbyist with a quick spiel and loose cash.

Take a look at who voted FOR Enformcement 1st last year and who voted against it. All but 6 of the Democrats voted against your position.

So instead of spending all your time flaming out at your own political allies, and posting your “Conservatives are not losing everything is just Bush’s fault” knee jerk dogmas, how about you trying actually thinking about this issue for once?
