So having said National I.D., nevertheless being able to be forged on a national level is an acceptable risk to you...And election fraud being the straw that broke the camels back on this one...hmmmm???

Lets just say I dissagree with your justification on this issue...

Get real. Your strawman doesn’t cut it. Voter fraud trumps a few forgers.

Voter fraud trumps a few forgers.

Who do you think will be the forger's clients?

Besides, elections are conducted by the states, not by the federal government, although they must meet certain minimal requirements as to who they allow to vote, or don't allow, at least in Federal races. Thus no need for a national/federal ID. 50 state IDs can do the job just as well, and make the forger's job a bit, although not much, more difficult.

Hey bert...

Ever been an election judge??? Been responsible for the integrity and purity of a voting precinct poll???

Guess what...I have, many times...My crew checks ID’s (and pssst, they are state issued...)

If you don’t have an ID, or a voter registration card...Sure, I’ll let you vote, but per our operating parameters, I’ll only let you (by the authority of the “state” and instructions handed down to me) vote provisionally...

It won’t count, but you do get to vote...Sure does motivate people to get their acts together and either bring a valid form of ID, or just feel good about yourself...

I don’t particularly care for a national ID, there is not real need for it other than the ones create by the people (like yourself) and the government hacks looking for more justification for their existance in the “system”...

Sure lets open wide a big can of worms, and get everyone used to the federal government telling the states (once again) what they had better do, and comply with, or we’ll hold back tax dollars and other revenue and aid back to the states for all that great pork and other earmarked funds...Not that I particularly care about that...

I tend to do my best to avoid those dangling carrots if I can...

But I don’t expect you to buy into that idea...And thats ok, just rest assured that if it came to a vote, I’ll be glad to cancel out your vote “for” a national ID...

Somehow if you place your trust in a little piece of plastic, it just seems disengenuous...We have enough on our plate to work with now...

My passport got stolen in the UK last year (long story). The U.S. embassy didn’t seem overly concerned about it because they cancelled it. They issued a temporary one so I could get home and I haven’t heard a word since from anybody.

“we must have a national ID”

I just threw up a little in my mouth. Truly a disgusting comment.

You worry about a trivial matter. The National ID will insure rather than destroy liberty.

There is no such thing as a document that cannot be forged, duplicated or replicated, or an ID that is tamper proof.

That’s why asking illegals for proof of residency documentation and other documents is such a joke. I still can’t believe that our Senate tried to ram the immigration bill down our throat knowing full well the massive shortcomings and the certain threat of fraud everywhere in the system.

Why don’t we just permanently tattoo a UPC code on everyones forearm at birth? Surely then liberty would be secured!

Nonsense. States run the elections; State ID's should suffice.

The National ID will insure rather than destroy liberty.

How so? By further eroding state sovereignty?
I'm interested in details if you have them. The Amnesty bill proponents could not answer how they would thoroughly vet the 20m illegals.

Shows how banal and deceitful the hack politicians are; and how bent on the destruction of the United States as we have known it.
