Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a horrific, barbaric practice.
It is considered a rite of passage for young females. It is not done in a sterile, clean environment. Oftentimes, the young female has the practice performed with a group of women holding the female down. Crude instruments are used such as sharpened stones and the young girl only has a wooden stick that has placed been placed in her mouth to bite down on to smother her screams.
It has disfigured females, prevented them from having sexual relationships, performing the basic bodily function of urinating, stopped them from having children, and for some ended in death.
The ritual (FGM) is being performed in the United States. How often? Not sure..but cases have been reported.

The procedure can include more than clitoral removal - it can include removing everything. This depends upon the custom of the girl’s family or the demands of the potential husband-to-be in an arranged marriage.
The women in the family participate because they’ve been taught that no man will marry them if this is not done. So, though women participate - it is a male demand that it be done.
The effects are lifelong - with infection from menses and other bodily functions prohibited from exiting the body as nature meant it should.
In some cultures in addition to the mutilation the female is then “sewn up” tightly - again for the male’s pleasure. On the wedding night he has the fun of punching through thte sutures - while music plays so her screams can’t be heard.
When time for the birth of a baby - the stitching is removed and after the birth re-stitched.
The procedure itself is not always performed by females upon females - but often a male barber (yes, a barber) does it in the back of his shop - sometimes using pieces of glass.
The victim can be any age - from an infant to a marriagable woman in her twenties.
The death rate is horrific - the infection rate almost 100%.
But the binding of a woman’s soul starts in many ways - with a head scarf when she is very small ....
I think about that as I watch my city being overrun with veiled and head scarfed little girls.

I think it goes without saying that our nation's ardent misguided love affair with cultural relativism and this 'orgy of sensitivity and tolerance' we seem to be hopelessly embroiled in has in actuality been the leading contributive factor leading to our nation's rapid moral downfall.
Imagine finding a living cro-magnon man, putting him in modern clothes and dropping him into a modern city. Does anyone really think he’s going to magically BECOME a modern, civilized human being? Is he going to sit a table and have dinner, or go to the zoo to club a fresh animal to skin and roast?
We all know that wouldn’t work, but some will blindly expect to have humans from still-barbaric cultures adapt and blend into modern civilization. How can the supposedly intelligent be so stupid?
The only way not to have barbarism in your culture is to not allow barbarians into it. It’s not rocket science.
If you’re not willing to accept mutilation, honor killings, beheadings, human sacrifice, cannabilism, animal sacrifice, etc as ‘normal’, then you cannot let people who consider such things normal into your society.
They have NO PLACE in modern civilization- and there is PC way to say that.
