The look on Churchill’s face is classic. I read somewhere that the photographer grabbed his cigar away from him right before he took the shot.

It always amazes me that so many education "reformers" start from the assumption that no one learned anything before they came on the scene.Absolutely spot on!

I remember when I was in the 7th grade and the trendy thing the school forced on us was some sort of doofy food and hotel service class. I kid you not. Instead of the traditional home economics we were taught how to make a bed and to line up chairs and pretend we were airline stewardesses. It was such STUPID curriculum. We had to suffer through an entire semester of it. Then we received a nine-week course in cooking and a nine-week course in sewing. Frankly I could have done without all of it. But that food/hotel service nonsense was the worst!
Oh, and anyone else have to suffer through visualization nonsense? I suppose that beat the wicca lady who was my psychology teacher. She brought in an astrologer, a mind reader, and some other wackos. She made us watch Helter Skelter (as did my sociology teacher...what's up with that?), draw up our own astrology charts, stare at people and try to see their auras, etc.
Who needs history when you have all these other goofy things to talk about?

I found the story about that photograph.
Story about this photo:
January 27, 1941. Churchill just came to 10th Downing Street for shooting a few pictures showing his stamina and toughness. However, the Churchill look far too relaxed with the cigar, which is inconsistent with Carter's idea. He walked up to Churchill and pull the cigar away from the mouth. Churchill was infuriated as a result. At the moment Churchill angry eyes stared at Carter, Carter press the shutter. This photo become one of the most famous photos of Churchill.

Re your post” “Never lose your ignorance; you can never regain it!”
Please remember, these are liberals/leftists. They can always regain their ignorance. They do it every day here in the US. Just like a salamander losing a tail, they are skilled at regenerating ignorance on a daily basis.
Just look at our MSM newspapers on a daily basis, and the garbage that comes out of Congress on a daily basis.
Remember, with the Left, there is no limit to their ability to be, remain, and regain “ignorance”.

Messed up the posting:
You can always count on the Left to “regain” their ignorance, just as a salamander can regrow a leg.
Just read the Mainstream media newspapers, listen to their news shows, and listen to what comes out of Congress on a daily basis.
There is no limit to their ability to be “ignorance”, day after day, year after year, ad nauseam.
Perhaps we should coin a new saying: “Stick stuck on ignorance”.

In Churchill's The River War (still a relevant read, though written in the late 1890s or early 1900s), he unflatteringly (but truly) critiques Islam. I imagine Britain's muzzies have despised the memory of Churchill for that and other reasons.

Critics warned traditional subject disciplines were being stripped of key content and used to promote fashionable causes and poorly-defined "life skills". Thank you for the ping; this is insane. Ignorance of these important concepts and the contributions of these people toward staving off fascism can only mean history will repeat itself.
What they are doing in the UK is what they are doing here, imo. They are pushing teaching for [code word] "social equity/social justice." It will be up to individual teachers, with integrity, to put this needed information into their teaching day....unfortunately, many likely will not.

So they’re going to dump part of the reason they’re still around in their current form?

Everything I know about Churchhill and WW2 I learned reading books, speaking to others and, the internet.....until they shut off this brilliant sharing of knowledge....they’re pooked.....hehehehe When they outlaw Turner Classic Movies.....then it's time to worry......;)

Woman to Churchill: Mr Churchill, if you were my husband I would poison you. Churchill: Madame, if you were my wife, I should take it!I believe that woman was Lady Astor.
Once she was giving a costume party, and Winston asked her suggestion for a good disguise. "Why don't you come sober, Mr. Prime Minister?" she replied.
