that they consider by doctrine and the Bible (thank God) that homosexuality is a sin and un-natural should go without saying but their record of first not paying much attention to this for decades except to move pederast queer clergy around and then paying out under pressure and trying to seal records, refusing to call it a queer problem etc is embarrassing...to anyone

If I were Catholic...this would really steam me. Christianity and Cathlolicsim in particular is about shame...where is it. Guilt...the selfish emotion of contrition is for others....not Christians.

Here in the Cleveland Diocese the shortage of Priest is already forcing the Bishop to make plans to have only a part time Priest in smaller parishes.

You can not have a Mass with out a Priest. So for the foreseeable future the US Catholic Church can not afford to ask any ordained Priest to resign without asking a great many thousands of Catholics to give up their local parish and drive many miles to attend Mass (this is already happening some places in the US because Churches are being sold for cash to pay for settlements against the Church).

I am Catholic. The best estimate is that no more than two per cent of priests have offended as homopervs or chickenhawks or pedophiles or pederasts or whatever. Why do you think 25% should resign? 23 innocent resignations for every two guilty resignations????

Now, granting that 2% is 2% too many, that some of our bishops are as guilty as are their homoperv sins, that some of our priests and bishops who are not themselves homopervs as well as many who are homopervs have covered up for homoperv priests, none of that requires punishing the innocent as though they were guilty.

Trust me that Catholics feel even more strongly about these perverts than do non-Catholics. After all, it is our Church. The Catholic Church will not be harmed by purging the perverts who refuse to be penitent and celibate. It will be purified.

Conservatism will be harmed by gratuitous harming of the largest Church in our country which has faithfully opposed abortion and other forms of social revolution and evils in our nation and in our world.

I am just beginning to read "Ungodly Rage" which is about feminism in the Catholic Church. (By "Beginning" I mean I have it on the table and am looking at it with anticipation while finishing a book on C.S. Lewis.) I think there will be some coverage of perversion, but I don't know. However there is a correlation between some "schools" of feminism and lesbianism fer shur.

My other comment is that while the shuffling and hiding of abusive clergy was a bad thing, it's also true that it was what the shrinks they consulted were advising.
