No point beating a dead horse. Iraq is a dead horse. BTW India was ready to send troops to Afghanistan. US refused.
Now THAT is what you can call “Mucho stupido” or in Espaniol “Mucho estúpido”.
That is a somewhat different case. Afghanistan is linked at the hip to Pakistan which has the ongoing border region disputes, and correct me if this is not so, but shares its historical "muslim califate" antipathy to the primarily Hindu India...
Iraq, isn't lost yet, and as a non-neighboring state may not have as knee-jerk an opposition to India.
But you're right in general...we should not be looking gift horses in the mouth.

Outstanding!
No actually they dont. They like Indians and they curse Pakistanis. The curse them for unleashing the Taliban on them and love Indians because they are building the schools and hospitals and are involved in big time re-construction work. And they are all die hard fans of bollywood......even more then Indians. In the days of Taliban rule, they would smuggle Indian movies to watch risking their own lives. They are that much fan of “Hindustan”.
Too bad US choose Pakistan over India. Never change horses while crossing a stream.
Umm,would the US send troops to fight terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir or in India’s North-East???Not a handful, but potentially,100s of thousands?????Chances are no-the same goes for any Indian intervention in foreign countries outside the UN(where combat operations are minimal). It’s only happened once before in Sri Lanka & didn’t pan out well.
India’s is doing more than it’s fair share against extremist Islam & no point securing other’s chances at being a nation state, when your own existence is being threatened.
In 1961, there were 47,000,000 Muslims in a population of 439,235,000 ( 10.7%). Today there are 138,190,000 out of 1,030,000,000 13.4% . That is basically a tripling of population in 50 years!
If there is a big change in N. Korea, it is due to its internal problem such as succession struggle.
A long-predicted arc of Japan-Taiwan-Singapore-India is taking shape, with U.S. and Australia in the background.
Fair points. But the existential threats aren't all home-grown. The Sri-Lanka expeditionary action is also a cautionary tale.
