There, fixed it. Ya just gotta read between the lines. ;-)
Then we simply differ on this.
A victim of a similar crime (sans the forced abortion) and circumstances with whom I’ve worked complains to this day - over 25 years later - that she never got the opportunity to confront her attacker.
Now, whose emotionalism do I listen to - yours, or hers?
I think we know the answer.
Well, as they said:
“We knew this man had to face judgment, to go before a jury and a judge,” she said. “We really had been hoping to reach this man, to save this man, to have this man repent of his crime.” |
They seem to be able to muster a considerably greater amount of compassion than I can after reading the details of what apparently had been going on.
Let me guess, your a pro-abortion Christian?
While I may not feel the need to protest the way they do, I support their right to peacefully protest. I think I would choose their Christian ministry over yours. A hundred some years ago your view would have been fully accepted in the “Christian” South.
I didn’t give you “emotionalism,” DD. I gave you arguments. What are hers?
I listed some of the risks. Let’s hear some of the benefits.
I think you got confused. The people taking pictures that were turned over proving he was at the ‘clinic’ was from “Small Victories”; they are NOT the people who run the ‘clinic’.
The Michaels, for their Christian ministry, have spent more than 14 years outside the Granite City abortion business protesting and taking photographs of abortionists, clinic employees and customers.
I’m sorry, that is not part of any valid Christian ministry that I know of.
How about protecting the innocent? Doing first unto others, as you would have them do unto you? How about the “thou shall NOT MURDER”?
Guess again.
My friend insists she would have been better able to cope with, and get beyond, her feelings of uselessness, despair, and helplessness had she been able to confront her assailant/molester/rapist in a public setting and run him through the ringer.
At the time she was abused, she was 14 and 15 - and the SOB was in his late 30’s, and a relative. A year or so after she demanded he put an end to the abuse(she was 16 or so at the time), she started giving him grief and advised that she was going to inform her immediate family and see if something could be done (again, she was 16 or so and didn’t know the legalities/court proceedings, etc.)
Her abuser responded by basically trying to buy her off with the offer to buy her a used car, pay for a trip - whatever. When she still said “no,” because she felt used and tormented,...he did himself in.
As stated, to this day my friend insists she wanted to confront him publicly. She believes he beat her twice - once with the abuse, itself, and once by “cheating” (her term) her out of being able to make him pay (as opposed to him paying her off) for the abuse.
As it happens, the guy who killed himself is not the guy who committed the rape. The Arkansas Register retracted their story the NEXT day.
I was going to post this on my website and myspace, but when I tried to verify it, I found all of the links to the original story had been removed.
So I called the Arkansas paper and they told me about the mistake.
The suicide was a stock broker / accountant from Newport, Arkansas.
The sexual abuser was a factory worker from BRYANT ARKANSAS.
So the story was withdrawn and corrected almost immediately on 7/19.
Angela Michael, on the other hand, is NEVER wrong.
So she refuses to correct the story.
Worldnet Daily is the only one that is publishing it so far.
The family sent out a press release on Monday that said this:
PRESS RELEASE
TO: ALL MEDIA OUTLETS
Monday, July 23, 2007
SUBJECT: Angela Michaels press release concerning the death of Jeffrey Dean Cheshier our Son, Brother, Father, Uncle & Cousin
To Whom it may concern;

Contrary to what Ms. Michaels reports, she had no right or authorization to release this information.
Some of the information she has released was incorrect or downright false and defamatory. Some, of the information was never intended to be released to the public, may in fact compromise the investigation that is ongoing, and will cause her sources to be investigated.
Further release of this information by Angela Michael may result in legal action against her and her sources.
We therefore ask that you refrain from reporting or publishing any further information regarding our Son, Brother, Father, Uncle & Cousin that has not been released directly by our family or the governmental authorities involved.

Just thought you might want to know.
Try to find another article other than the Death Notice for Jeffrey Dean Cheshier in Arkansas that is not EXACTLY like Angela Michael’s account.
Let me guess. You're a complete idiot?
While I may not feel the need to protest the way they do, I support their right to peacefully protest. I think I would choose their Christian ministry over yours. A hundred some years ago your view would have been fully accepted in the Christian South.
You know nothing of my views. You have your head firmly ensconced so far up your @$$ that you are suffering from oxygen depravation and your braincells are going "AHHHHHH!" as they expire.
Get a clue.
You need to go read your Bible.
You must really like Big Brother.
I support protests outside abortuaries.
I do not support compilation of dossiers on people entering/leaving them, nor the staff.
If you support that, then you have become what you despise.
He had none to begin with.
Private individuals compiling publically available information with no violation of privacy occurring is not analogous to the state violating individual privacy to compile closely-held information.
Big Brother accusations do not fly.
Angela Michael could give a rats tail about the young girl unless she can promote herself at the same time. If you really want to know who the real Angela Michael is, go to mttu.com
I’m all for protecting the innocent. I am not for instituting jackboot tactics, no matter how noble the cause.
You need to go read your Bible.

Sorry Pod, you need to read your Bible. Christians are called to protect the innocent. We are not called to be timid, nor are we to suffer sins in silence. Too long have we kept quiet when things don’t necessarily impact or involve us. We have to be involved, to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. That’s what the good Samaritan parable is about - if you read it. Helping those who can’t help themselves. “Love Thy Neighbor”. Maybe that will help you remember a few things.
No where did anyone say taking pictures of people going into or out of abortionariums is a “jackbooted tactic”. It’s a public street where there is no expectation of privacy. Some would consider turning over money tables and chasing people out of a church to be “jackboot tactics” as well.
The real tragedy is that he didn’t ace himself before he raped his niece.
