US, Poland Ignore Russian Threats

WARSAW, Poland, July 24--Poland and US remain undeterred by Russian opposition to Washington's plans to build a missile defense system in eastern Europe, the chief Polish negotiator said Tuesday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said Russia had shown a determination to block the project, most recently by suspending its participation in a key European arms control treaty.

In a phone interview with The Associated Press, Waszczykowski said the Polish President Lech Kaczynski and US President George W. Bush discussed their concerns over Russia's move during their meeting in Washington last week and resolved not to be swayed by it.

"During the meeting of Kaczynski and President Bush, we discussed what else the Russians can do to spoil the whole concept, and the straightforward answer was, well, that we will continue,'' Waszczykowski said.

"Despite Russia trying to spoil this concept, to destroy the whole idea, there is a determination and commitment on the American side to continue the project as they proposed in January of this year,'' said Waszczykowski, who accompanied Kaczynski to Washington.

Waszczykowski said that Bush and Kaczynski discussed how seriously to take Russia's decision to suspend its participation in the Treaty on Conventional Forces in Europe.

"That was part of the discussion -- how are we supposed to react? Is it only rhetoric, used just like 10 years ago during the discussion on NATO enlargement?'' said Waszczykowski, a former charge d'affaires to NATO who led Poland's negotiations on joining the alliance.

"Or is it something serious that we need to take into consideration -- do we have to take care and be afraid? So far it's too early to answer this.''

The US formally asked Poland in January to let it place 10 interceptors in Poland as part of a system aimed at a baseless claim of protecting the US and Europe from future missile attacks from neighboring countries. The system would also include a radar base in the Czech Republic.

Russia says the US anti-missile system would upset the balance of strategic forces in Europe. Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested in June that the US modify the proposal and use current or proposed radar sites in Azerbaijan and southern Russia.

That plan, Waszczykowski said, is "worth taking into consideration. But it cannot replace the whole system -- it can add additional value, but it cannot replace the original proposal.''

Poland has not yet given its final decision.

Your Radio Moscow style propaganda concerning Finland and the Winter War are not up the Kremlin’s high standards of 100% absolute lies. Current rating is only 97.8%. You must apply yourself for the sake of Premier Putin’s Motherland, as all the loyal Nashi commissars clones diligently do while currently away at summer camp.==

Bla bla. Everyone may check facts I mentioned. You simply afraid that facts contradict your Russophobia:).

Bolshevick recognised Finland in 1918. http://www.histdoc.net/history/itsen2.html So Bolshevicks gave them Russia’ territory in 1918 but in 1939 decided to take some back.
It is teh facts which are stubborn thing:))). I propose that you go educate yourself instead of dessiminate anti-russian hate:).

You labeling all those which warn others of Russia's current dictator as being "Russophobic" or having a case of "Russophobia" is false.

There are Russians which clearly see any semblance to Russia and a truly democratic republic is nothing but an illusionary pipe dream, with the likes of Putin controlling what is now a high-tech neo-Stalinist totalitarian empire. Many Russians also understand mounting numbers of their fellow countrymen have been murdered on the brutal dictator's direct orders if they publish or speak the truth about the KGB dictatorship., so the issue is not directed at members of the Russian public who fully fathom they do not live in a free nation. Russians who no longer desire to exist in a state of fear should depart Russia, since the Putin régime's inevitable future military aggression/invasions of other independent nations will eventually result in the destruction of vast portions of Russia. Russians who support their 'wonderful' dictator will only have themselves to blame.

The proper term is 'Putinphobia', you know the top KGB thug & his collection of KGB cronies from the 'old days' which he has brought back with an alarming vengeance.

If the Kremlin's leading tyrant continues threatening the British, do not be surprised about the events which will transpire in the future.

AFAIK you neither Europians nor americans will not sacrifice thier own people for sake of baltic states...

Hitler thought largely the same thing in 1941.

He lost that bet, badly.

And that's pretty indicative of how Russians view every single treaty they've ever signed. Signing a Treaty with Russians is a waste of ink.

how many of the jihadi terrorists were trained by KGB, most of the leaders, Arafat was, Zawahiri was and many more.==

Zawahiri too? I did never hear of it. DO you have some proves?<<<<<<<

RusIvan, there are many reports, I do not see the Wilson Center in these searches, but a couple years ago, they released declassified papers, that showed the KGB meeting and paying many of the worlds top al-qaeda and any other hater of America.

Sorry, I don’t have the hours to dig them all out, but the links below will get you started.

We have enough excess capacity within NATO to kick that puke into the Caucasus any time and any place. Russian tanks are no match for NATO air superiority.

It was Soviets not Russians. In ranks of Soviet army was many ukranians for example. Stalin the leader of USSR of those times was Georgian.

Hm.... RUSSIA'S youth admire the Soviet dictator Josef Stalin - who presided over the deaths of millions of people - and want to kick immigrants out of Russia, according to a poll released yesterday. When asked if Stalin was a wise leader, half of the 1,802 respondents, aged from 16 to 19, agreed he was. "Fifty-four per cent agreed that Stalin did more good than bad," said Theodore Gerber, a sociologist from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who presented the poll. Hmmm...

Call “Bolshevicks” and “Soviets” as Russians is the Russophobia(just because it is not true and blame Russians for deeds of all Soviets).
Pin on Russia the acts made by whole USSR is teh Russophobia too.

But if you worry about Russia then I presume you should learn what Russia is. For this you should use many differnt sources awhilable. But I see it vividly you know almost nothing about subject unless some Nycvyst like slanders. I’d like to help you with it but you stuck in your Rsusophobia and simply refuse to hear the different things. You pin all facts which contradict your Russoahpbia as teh propaganda although any unbiased watcher may check them. We live in Internet era don’t we?

Threaten British? Isn’t British just paranoid? The Litvinenko case its just one big hoax devised just for purpose to blackmail Putin into something. Putin just didn’t give up so ahole buckle of the slanders was thrown at him. Anyways in one year Putin will go so who else you and cronies will hate then?:)

I cann’t cease wondering for what those dupes use thier brains?:))

I give you one more tip. The today huge flooding in the south-westren Britain it is all Putin doing:)). He just flooded Britain to punish her for extradition of 4 Russian diplomats. I give you the great anti-Putin idea for free:). I beleive that the western press may chew this for month.

Did Hitler bomb the american territory? But that is what I’m talking. Will your sacrifice your own home town where your family live (so do you ready to lose your family?) for sake to punish Russia if she invades baltic states but your territory she won’t touch? That is the main question. My honest answer - NO. Give your honest answer or don’t bother.
Just notice that if I’m right then Russia has just the free hand in eastern Europe and no NATO may stop her.

Did the Bolsheviks & Soviets take over Iceland? Singapore? No, they took over Russia. Your Kremlin propaganda which attempts to paint that Russia was some how controlled by commies for over 75 years, which were not Russians, oh no not a Russian among the NKVD, the KGB, the Politburo, or all the Russian spies slithering all over the West were really spies from Ireland who had plastic surgery to look like Russians - please Sir, next you will assert the bloody Bolsheviks must have originated from Mars.

Is Comrade Putin Russian? Or was his KGB training taken in Portugal, maybe Norway? You can't have it both ways. Russia has always been ruled by monsters, dictators of the worst sort, and today nothing has changed except the suits and ties. Putin is a die-hard KGb commie to the bone and you know it.

"Threaten British? Isn’t British just paranoid?"

Now that reads like a typical headline from the front pages of Tass or Pravda.

Putin Will Expand Spy Network to Counter `Imbalances' With U.S.

Premier Putin meets with top Russian spies

Huge fire after natural-gas pipeline break outside St Petersburg

Is Premier Putin going to blame the British for this natural gas line fire?

Putin intensifies rhetoric against Britain

"The Litvinenko case its just one big hoax devised just for purpose to blackmail Putin into something. Putin just didn’t give up so ahole buckle of the slanders was thrown at him."

Now you are reading directly from the KGB's script.

Have you removed your 'American' made shoe and are banging it the table, as Comrade Khrushchev did as he yelled "We will bury you!"?

Putin will bury Russia in the future by his own actions.

"Anyways in one year Putin will go so who else you and cronies will hate then?:)"

Russians would put Putin back in the Kremlin -poll

Who knows, maybe the closer the 2008 elections draw near there will be another sudden rash of Moscow apartments terrorist bombings making it 'impossible' for Premier Putin to step down as Russia's dictator.

Putin will be pulling the strings no matter who is 'elected' in the upcoming 2008 rigged Russian 'elections'.

I am so sorry, as I expected you to be able to read more than the top line of the searches........

You found what you wanted to find.

As for Russia changing the weather, they have done that for years, and no that information did not come from the internet.

Russia once offered to change the weather with a typhoon, when one of the Pacific countries, Indonesia or near there had many forest fires.

That was on the world news, late 1990’s or early 2000.

If you want more information, you can go and google for what you want it to say.

The funny thing is that Russia can change the weather, they offered once to use it to blow the smoke away, from forest fires.

Russia’s gift of a flood, thanks Ivan for the tip, as I had not thought of it.

Thanks for those links.

The UK is not playing the Kremlin's games, boots out more of Putin's spies and then the massive flooding gets worse(?)

It makes one ponder considering Putin's devious and brutal track record.

One of the link you supplied stated that the Russians "would create a massive typhoon that would blow the cloud layer away.." One has to wonder about the Russian named hurricane 'Katrina'.

We also need to wonder what is transpiring on the homefront as well.

There was a lot of talk last year about Katrina, something about the photos of it still at sea, showing a line of color that could have been caused by a weather helper machine.

I do not have an education in science or weather making, so did not dwell on it.

I have known for 15 or more years that the use of weather in a war, was possible.

There is so much going on, that I cannot catch it all.

Every so often I take a look at Russia’s spies, they say that we and the rest of the world have more of them here, than during the cold war.

Australia has just caught several.

Of course, if you get bored with Russia, there is always China to look at.
