Homeland General: Attack 'Could Happen Any Day'

The U.S. military commander in charge of defending the U.S. homeland said Tuesday that he believes there are al-Qaida cells in the United States or people working to create them.

Air Force Gen. Victor "Gene" Renuart said that while the terrorism threat within the nation's boundaries has increased in the past year, officials have strengthened intelligence sharing, particularly in an effort to shore up weaknesses in security at U.S. ports. [Editor's Note: Be prepared for terror with an Emergency Radio. Homeland Security says every home should have one. Get our FREE offer Emergency Radio -- Go Here Now.]

"I believe there are cells in the United States, or at least people who aspire to create cells in the United States," Renuart said in an interview with The Associated Press. "To assume that there are not those cells is naive and so we have to take that threat seriously."

He added, "Am I concerned that this will happen this summer, I have to be concerned that it could happen any day."

Other U.S. officials last week said they did not know of al-Qaida cells in the United States.

Renuart, who took over the job as the head of U.S. Northern Command just four months ago, said that to counter the growing threat, the military also needs to create two more brigade-size units to be available to respond to nuclear, chemical and biological incidents at home - because currently there is only one. A brigade is about 3,500 troops.

Renuart's comments came in the wake of a national intelligence report released last week, which concluded that al-Qaida is using its growing strength in the Middle East to plot attacks on U.S. soil.

Port security has long been identified as a key weak point, including the need to scan cargo containers coming into the country by ship.

Renuart said officials are expanding their use of sensors and other technologies that allow them to track ships, including their location, their speed and other commercial information. And, while he would not provide details, he said there has already been "real payback" in terms of identifying vessels of concern and either checking or boarding them well before they got into U.S. waters.

"Because the national intelligence estimate talks about the vulnerability of ports, and because of the importance that we place on the movement of a variety of goods through those ports, finding ways to improve that is a really important element of our day to day work," Renuart said.

At the same time, he said it will be a year or two before he is able to pull together the military units he needs to better be able to respond to a chemical, biological or nuclear disaster in the U.S.

The units, he said, will be made up of active duty, reserves and National Guard troops. And while portions of the brigades will be located in different states, they will be expected to train together and be able to respond quickly to a disaster.

Overall, Renuart said that as the terror threat increases, the nation's ability to detect problems has also improved.

The intelligence report, he said, is a "summary of drumbeats, and the drumbeats are getting more prevalent out there. You cannot afford to ignore that." But he said, a few years ago, the nation was not as able to hear and interpret those drumbeats.

“For every one who gets grilled, there are a million who don’t”

Is this correct ?
If so, then this is the most depressing info that I have come across recently. We always look up to to the image of the tough no nonsense Yank (to a lesser extent, Aussie) politicians who put their nation’s well being first. Rudolph Guiliani springs to mind. I used to go green with envy thinking about America’s Republican political hard men when comparing them with our poofy, multicultural minded, chicken livered lot in the House of Commons.

I had no idea America’s political elite are becoming like ours!
As this is the case then they only thing to do is go right back to the source of this infection:-

The induviduals who CLAIM to represent you.

Our ‘Conservative’ party has gone all touchy- feely- reach-out-to-Islam because, in their own words, they didn’t want to be seen as Britain’s ‘Nasty’ party.
I suspect elements in your Republican Party think the same. US or UK we need to root out the Cowardly, the Appeasers, the Conisseurs of inferior third world cultures. In short, we need to continuously remind those who we pay and elect to protect OUR interests, not those of aggressive immigrants, that when need arises, they must be nasty.
We must lobby for a complete bar on Islamic immigration, and reinforce it by encouraging skilled Hindu/Sikh, and Jewish professionals to counter Moslem block votes. Personally, I would even go as far as barring Moslems from taking part in the electoral process, if it stops them from getting their foot in the door.
Perhaps I can speak more easily, as I live in a peaceful corner of the world, we have no immigrants round here,
and am fortunate to have a great local MP, Sir Peter Tapsell, who is old fasioned pro- USA and Israel, and regularly speaks out against immigration.
Lastly organize rallies, assemblies in town halls, print posters and publications that sort of thing. Inform younger people what is really happening, and if you find out that their school or college is pushing anti- western pro Islamic doctrines at them take them out.
This is what I am doing, despite having been threatened by the police with inciting hate.

Wait up, who are you calling European ?
I happen to be a British Islander ; I have never trusted mainland Europe and will take up arms if Britain is ever pushed into a Federal Europe.
It so happens I posted not realizing that America’s politicians have been infected with the same virus as ours.
I happen to have a 20 year old cousin serving in Iraq, standing shoulder to shoulder with you lot; in the last 12 months I have been flobbed at by ‘peace’ protestors in Sheffield, have had a punch up with a Galloway supporter who called Britsh squaddies ‘nazis’, and at one stage was threatened with prosecution because I opposed opening a new mosque, and told Moslem leaders what I thought of their religion.
How much have you done ?
Cheers
Jabbermog.

“How much have you done?”

What have I done? Ever wear a uniform? I was on the East/West border waiting for the Reds to cross while you, I suspect, were still in diapers.

What else have I done? I don’t go around posting nonsense about the “tough no nonsense Yank” Rudy.

Anyone caught with the practice paraphrenalia (wire wrapped cheese, clay filled icepacks, cell phone components, and other stuff) needs a one way trip to gitmo and a charge of conspiracy to incite or commit terrorism.

If they religion of perverts, misogynists, and intolerance commits a new terrorism act within our borders, there should be no holding back. Nuke Mecca, Medina, Damascus, Tehran, Riyadh, and any other hellhole or sewage pit.

Hey guys, we’re on the same side.
Over the past 100 years or so the only people who America could ALWAYS count on were the Brits, Aussies, Kiwis and Canadians. They have never abandoned us and we have never abandoned them.
There are liberals in all our countries and we don’t honestly know how that happened or how to get rid of the infestation.
If the forces of the muslim horde were to attack any of of us, I’m pretty sure we could all count on the aid of our friends.

Quite frankly I’m getting a little fed up with muzzie infiltration into all of our countries. It needs to stop.

Cheers, what people are saying on here is no exaggeration.
Last spring I wrote and complained to a local paper about a big old house in Sheffield that had been converted into a mosque without planning permission. It turned out that the Imam had been brought over from Yemen (naturellement he couldn’t speak a word of English) and he had been calling for the destruction of British society. In addition I posted on a website the truth abou Islam; subjugation of women, their prophet’s paedophilia etc, and lobbied local politicians. I also tried roping in some local skinheads, I admit, a stupid thing to do.
Within days I recieved a letter from South Yorkshire police, questioning ME about why I hate poor vulnerable minorities. I refused to talk to them and they said they would charge me with inciting racial hatred. When I pointed out that Moslems are a religion not a race, they ummed and aared and the Crown Prosecutor charged me with ‘Using words likely to cause fear, alarm, or distress’. Of course the Imam who wrote publicly for the death of Jews, Hindus, and Americans was not spoken to.
Anyway after 5 months of action, myself and over 100 fellow patriots were told the charges would be dropped.
However, I will do the same again. Islam is a cancer that should not be pushed onto a modern, western democracy.

“One more terrorist attack in America and every muzzie swinging dick will have to pack up his koran and family and go back to whatever hellhole he originated from.”

They will sadly not get the chance unless law enforcement can protect them all 24/7 from an enraged to point of insanity American populace that will be looking for retribution.

So Moslem outsiders- guests in our lands- can say and do what the blooddy hell they like but we, Limeys, Yanks, or Canucks, have to sit there and put up with it ?

Short of physically going for them (which FreeRepublic does not allow and note I condemn that) what is there left ?

I have an idea.

Lobby for their deportation.

Deny them the vote. (They claim democracy is unislamic anyway)

Get friends or relatives to join Government organisations, appear liberal and pc, but work for your own aim.In other words, infiltrate.

What do you think ? Something there eh?

A statement he shoulda made - if we weren’t so PC:

“We know that you - Al-Qaeda, or any one of a number of our enemies, is going to strike us in a big way some time in the near future. But I must say, you’ve totally discounted the retaliatory fire that awaits you. Because even though I know that our people are PC idiots, as you obviously do, I also know that they are supremely vengeful people that will not hesitate to wipe you out, in a systemmatic and on-high way - as well as every last bit of civilization you supposedly bring with you, if you dare to wake them up from their childish delusions.

Your move...”

I believe schools are the targets, furthermore I believe those targets have been chosen. When they move this time it will be in mass, not as was done in Beslan, Russia. Multiple attacks on the innocent and most venerable is where I believe these vile creature of their vile cult will strike. I hope to be wrong, but I see from the rhetoric there desire is to hit US where it will hurt US the most. This is why I say it will be the schools.

Besides the illegals amongst us are giving the moose lots of information, and this is a FACT, whether Americans are ready to admit this or not.
