Well, this is certainly not a tidbit that the radical lefties would like to see. You read it right, a solid majority of Americans approve of George W. Bush as a person. This means that, contrary to popular belief, the President is still actually highly regarded by most Americans.

Other interesting tidbits from the survey:

The poll gave the President a 36% job approval rating

The poll gave the Dems a 47%-40% generic advantage in Congress (by no means a staggering lead).

The poll shows Giuliani leading Hillary 50%-44%

The poll shows Hillary and Thompson deadlocked 46%-46%

The poll shows Hillary's unfavorables are severe 48%-50%

Read the rest of the poll for yourself.

One last thing. The poll also shows the GOP with the following advantages over the Democrats:

Terrorism: 49%-36%
Moral values: 42%-39%
Illegal immigration: 41%-36%
Taxes: 46%-44%

I was not surprised by this. My next door neighbors are both left of center - one is Jewish and loves Clinton, and one is a librarian- and one day I asked them some covert political questions.

The both said, they liked Bush personally! that he was a good man, but they didn’t like him as president. On the other hand, they thought Cheney was the devil.

I have heard that before...EVERY LIB THINKS CHENEY IS EVIL AND BELIEVE BUSH TO BE A LIKEABLE PAWN, such is the mental illness of the left.

What were the non-person options? Do they approve of him as that reptilian thing from Star Trek?

The poll shows Hillary’s unfavorables are severe 48%-50%

No way she can win a national election cycle with that.

“No way she can win a national election cycle with that.”

My sentiments exactly.

They have not polled the dead and the illegal. In those groups, I suspect her “unfavorable” rating is less that 0%.

This poll is a mistake. It was not supposed to get out in the wires.

Do they approve of him as that reptilian thing

Actually, there is a big contingent of conspiracy sites (Prompted by David Icke's claims) that say Bush is a reptilian alien.. this has been picked up by some 9/11 truth sites and Renese (sp?)..

Head to head, no.

But I'm surmising she plans on sliding into the WH the same way her husband did...with a third party candidate peeling off Republican votes.

McLame, maybe?

Tarrance is a Republican polling group, in case anybody cares. That given, this is pretty disturbing stuff.

“McLame, maybe?”

Hmmm. I don’t think him. For all his shortcomings, I think that John McCain doesn’t want to put a Dem in the White House. However, I wouldn’t put it past fellow New Yawker Bloomberg to try to hurt America and try to bring it down to his NYC level.

Tarrance is Republican and that’s where the link is to, but the Battleground Poll is Tarrance plus a Dem outfit. It’s a bipartisan poll. What do you mean by ‘disturbing’? I thought some of the news here was a breath of fresh air.

They approve of him “as a person?”

What does that mean? The other 43% don’t think he should be a person?

Gee, Constitutionally, what’s left? Certainly not enforcement of the law.

So the Democrats win on what?

“Ability to redistribute money stolen from fellow citizens in my direction”

Actually only 35% didn’t like him as a person, suggesting that they’re more closely allianced with the Kosmunists.
