Wrong. George H.W. Bush was elected President in 1988. He was a House member for Texas in 1964. Served one term, as I recall.
Is he waiting a long time or did the others jump in way too early?

Thanks you for clearing that up. I’m a fan of legal immigration too. If then Senator Abraham was seeking to improve the arcane, ill-enforced, and tedious immigration laws in this country, then I’m in agreement with him.
