O’Reilly has ALWAYS been an arrogant blowhard who is long on delivery and knowing how to draw attention to himself rather than a legitimate news seeker.
Case in point.
A few years ago before he became really big he was guest hosting on talk radio, most likely ABC. A caller talks about something in the NY Daily News newspaper and O’Reilly goes off on him saying how it’s a really big conservative paper, always has been and REALLY condescending with his arrogant, know-it-all delivery, dripping of self importance (can you tell how much I like him). After many attempts the caller FINALLY let him know that the Daily News was no longer a conservative paper and hadn’t been for many years.
He brings this kind of half-knowledge to EVERYTHING he does, but always has the arrogant, know-it-all delivery that brings ratings. This is also why he can go anywhere on an issue, this is also how this “journalist” can be so amazingly wrong on something like Free Republic. Let him spend a day on DU, he can have a week long show on hate.
Even when I agree with him I take everything he does with a grain of salt, he half kinda knows everything he talks about, which makes him smarter than about 75% of the population.

Well said - I heard Bill tonight and don’t think he treated FR well at all. Of course, a few moonbats and weirdos get by, but are handled promptly and efficiently.
One thing I think Bill doesn’t realize - there are SO many posts in the course of the day, it has to take awhile to moderate and clear out the trash.
I expect that more often than not, the mods get called in by someone. They can’t be everywhere.
For O’Reilly to have compared FR with the Daily Kosmonuts was ludicrous.
I've been a Freeper since before that term even was and have never seen blatant racism that has lasted for more than a rather short term. In fact, blatant crud like that normally earns the poster a suspension or outright ban.
When I saw BOR tonight I couldn't believe his prejudice against FreeRepublic. In almost ten years I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen something like that. I do know some pretty raunchy things have been said, but all I can see are replies to a deleted post.
As far as his bellyaching about the thread about him last night, he probably thought me calling him a bonehead re his koran feelings was hate speech. Hate speech ..... bah!! Thanks again for the reply........NOOB ! :^)

It’s just my opinion, but Freepers have turned the tide on several issues that were “big ticket” items — immigration, the Duke case, the Border Patrol Agents — just to name a few. When we start to make a difference, we hit the radar screen.
I have found this forum to be rough sometimes, but I have never (with one exception) had to set someone straight. When strongly held beliefs and strongly held convictions come together there are bound to be clashes. I’ve learned so much from all of you and had the best laughs I can remember. I think FreeRepublic is still the best place to come for good, intelligent (most of the time) discussions on the matters that concern us. I’ve never seen any racism. Okay, maybe sometimes the occasional poster goes to far over Hillary, but for the most part we ignore the bad behavior.

This is just another leftist ploy to undermine a conservative web site with selectively planted slurs.
It was convenient for OReilly to pick on one of those out of the thousands of posts.
At least the Daily KOS was given more attention. But placing the KOS and FreeRepublic together in the same topic has some kind of alterior motive. I believe the aim is at regulating web sites that disseminate information and opinion that is controversial by the mainstream definition. The MSM wants to the the selector of topics and the fair and balanced definition they all claim to have.

Sorry to say, I agree with him. However, I do not believe that those posters are regular contributors. Therefore it is up to us to regulate and control our board.
No, I haven't crossed path with him on this site, I don't think. If he's the same guy that calls in to Hannity's radio show, I always get a kick out out of hearing his take on current events.

A few weeks back there was a very objectionable post with blatant racism in it. I loved the moderators response. The mod said, “you will not do that here.” I immediately clicked on the poster account and it read “Banned”
With the mods and our ability to report abuse to the mods, a racist poster does not last around here very long. Bill Orielly does not know this or care. He is part buffoon but mostly ego.
