exploiting this tragedy for more tax dollars

As others have mentioned, 800 Million in taxpayer bonds were floated for light rail and the highway program suffered. I assume that the liberals will own up on that nonsense.

Funny, the sites I am looking at say the Federal Government paid 60% of that light-rail line, and the rest came from a mix of state, county, and airport monies.

That $424 million would probably not have gone into bridge reconstruction, it probably would have been awarded to another light-rail system in the US, if the Hiawatha Line had not been built.

Why not start blaming the welfare state - for which there is absolutely no payback, and as stated elsewhere, generally saps alot more of that money you want for (also non-payback) infrastructure?
