Basically, Michael Savage was correct about Bill. He is not that bright or intellectual. Of course Free Republic needs a monitor to control it’s postings; Bill would love that job. Then he could remove news or information he does not like; just as would the Marxist Democrats with their censorship initiative. Then Free Republic and PBS would have something in common, socialist drivel with low audience ratings.

I heard FR mentioned on Mark Lavin’s show last night. They love this site.

Maybe BOR just wants us to visit and debate on HIS "monitored" site. Hoping we will bring him more traffic.

I quit watching O'Reilly years ago, when he was ranting about the private proms in Georgia.

IIRC, about that time, he ran a poll on his website. The result were massively against his position on the topic. He took the poll down, wouldn't release the final results, and claimed the poll was skewed because someone hacked his website. That is how Bill deals with opposing views.

He's pretty bright. A step above Hannity. And he certainly thinks for himself. I cut him A LOT of slack for his spirited and un-PC defense of the unborn.

Keep in mind that the same Bill O'Reilly on Fox was the same Bill O'Reilly on Inside Edition just 20 years ago: a clip of him from those days.

People can try and re-invent themselves, but at the end of the day, he's trying to push stories that get viewers watching (even if they disagree with him, eyeballs = advertising revenue).

Like I said in the other thread, the majority of people who watch shows like O'Reilly's are possibly insecure in their beliefs and so need to watch somebody verbally beating up on somebody else to reaffirm what they believe - you never learn anything from these types of shows. The formula is simple - get something (or somebody) controversial to talk about, and either support it or bash it.
