Naive As They Come

War On Terror: Barack Obama revealed just how green he was last week by vowing to attack Pakistan. Now President Bush is stuck with the fallout. Can this naif spare us his battle plans until we've won the war?

Still smarting after Hillary Clinton thrashed him as a rube at July 23's YouTube debate, the Illinois candidate seemed keen to prove how sophisticated he was by delivering a substantial foreign policy address.

In some ways, it was not a bad speech. Addressing the war on terror, his wording was Reaganesque and his arguments were coherent, even if ill-informed.

But it was disastrous in a different way from his earlier naive statement about gladly taking tea with tyrants. It showed even more sharply how unready he is for the presidency.

Last Wednesday, Obama belittled Afghanistan's fragile democracy and then singled out Pakistan as an uncooperative enemy state he would attack. It was the kind of talk that shows up at left wing cocktail party circuits. But in reality, neither nation is an enemy. Both are fragile allies whose support is critical to winning the war on terror, even as flawed democracies.

I grew up on some pretty tough streets in Jersey. Obama would have been referred to as a dip-shit and probably slapped around a bit. Being out of tune with your surroundings was unforgivable.

Not ready for prime time, indeed...perhaps Obama should hone his ‘skills’ on SNL and while he is there fantasize about being a top Hollywood actor instead of POTUS.

Exactly, and do you remember how the left claimed he was so brilliant when they elected him Senator in 2004?

Seems to me someone who is so brilliant will not put his foot in his mouth

This guy is small time! He takes a page out of the liberal progressives bible “which way is the wind blowing, I’ll go that way” He is a nobody that is being convinced he’s a somebody, this is dangerous! And I can’t help but be amazed at the people(lemmings) that follow this dummy.

If someone goes whichever way the wind blows, it's a sure sign that they are a lightweight. No question about it in this case.

"that the time is now to shake off our slumber" may well rival jon carey's "Reporting for duty" moment.

Would that be the "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" or the "No Fighting in the War Room" version of Dr. Strangelove?

Both are absolutely hilarious.

I was listening to some of the pundits, forget wich ones on FNC the other night and one of them said the Perfumed General Richard Clark was one of Obama’s advisors...explains a lot doesn’t it.
