Viva Las Vegas

While America looks to amnesty as a way out of an illegal immigration problem it can't cope with, and while Europe undergoes soft Islamization as it gives up any hope of assimilating the newcomers to its shores, there remains just one entity capable of preserving civilization: Casinos.

Take Las Vegas, for example. In defiance of the current trend of embracing Arabic culture and even bending to certain Muslim practices in banking, real estate and other spheres, last week the Mandalay Resort Group announced that the Luxor hotel-casino will be dropping the Egyptian theme:

The Luxor is poised to undergo a massive makeover that will see the property abandon its Egyptian theme in favor of something a little more generic. The pyramid-shaped building and the famous beam of light will remain but many of the themed restaurants, shows, and shops have already been replaced.

My parents and I used to go there when I was in my early and mid-teens, and I had a great time. What’s the problem with that?

The Aladdin did the same thing last year, changing to "Planet Hollywood", abandoning the middle east, islamic theme.

That being said I will not spend another dime in Las Vegas (or Nevada for that matter) until they get rid of Harry Reid!

I was rather disappointed with the Luxor when I visited Vegas a month ago.
The pyramid shape made for an interior that seemed to close in on you, and all the structures inside made it look crowded and dark. It gave me claustrophobia.

Of course since I was staying at the Bellagio, very few of the other resorts could measure up.

Caesars and the Paris were really nice.

Bringing children into a casino is no different than bringing them into a bar or a nightclub. These are playgrounds for adults only; children don't belong there.

Like any other city, Las Vegas has places for children to have a good time, but casinos aren't among them.

Why do they allow illegal slobs to walk around the best parts of town flashing pictures of naked prostitutes in your face??

Porn is really in-your-face in Vegas. If they want to play family-friendly, they at least need to get the nude photos away from the sidewalk.

I don’t remember this happening 10 years ago....at least not in front of the Bellagio.

What makes it worse is that they usually line up in a way that it's like having to walk through a gauntlet, while they shove these fliers at you. And a lot of those fliers end up on the ground, so there's litter all over the place.

I sure miss the Vegas of 30 years ago.

I had been financing hotels in Vegas from 1980-through 1996. I’m done. All NASDAQ companies now. Not the same town I knew and liked.
