When my son enters an open wrestling tournament he has to pay a fee and the prize is a trophy.

Now some kids will win a trophy and some won’t based on their skill...is that gambling?

I look at Texas Holdem tournaments exactly the same way, some win some lose but it was a level playing field at the beginning and the one who has the best skills win.

No its not gambling. It’s skill. Besides that $10 trophy is nothing compared to the $50 entry fee.
