This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills go first to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills never make it out of committee.
Last Action: Aug 3, 2007: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
-More left wing denial and excuses!!-
Exactly right. When criminals are allowed to run free, then blend in with sympathy for them, we've totally lost the "play-by-the-rules" mentality in this country.
I don't care if they win the Citizen of the Year Award; the fact is they are NOT Citizens, they are NOT in the country LEGALLY, and in the good ol' days they would NOT have Standing in Court to even defend their law-breaking.
Today, every moonbat who supports their "rights" touts the un-fairness of those who break into our house, and are now supposed to be "part of the family".
Agreed! Major barf alert. Economic realities? How about the reality of depressed wages for the poorest Americans? Social realities? How about millions of invaders who believe the laws don’t apply to them?
I maintain credit monitoring and identity theft protection on my accounts at a cost of $130 annually, just to prevent this sort of stupidity from happening.
It's cheaper than dealing with the fallout of an illegal taking my SSN so he or she can work: thousands in lost income, increased credit card rates, writing to and from the credit bureaus and creditors, etc.
A BILL (.Introduced. Aug 3, 2007)
For the relief of Teresa Figueroa.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

(b) Adjustment of Status- If Teresa Figueroa enters the United States before the filing deadline specified in subsection (c), she shall be considered to have entered and remained lawfully and shall, if otherwise eligible, be eligible for adjustment of status under section 245 of the Immigration and Nationality Act as of the date of the enactment of this Act.
(c) Deadline for Application and Payment of Fees- Subsections (a) and (b) shall apply only if the application for issuance of an immigrant visa or the application for adjustment of status is filed with appropriate fees within 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.
(d) Reduction of Immigrant Visa Number- Upon the granting of an immigrant visa or permanent residence to Teresa Figueroa, the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper officer to reduce by 1, during the current or next following fiscal year, the total number of immigrant visas that are made available to natives of the country of the alien’s birth under section 203(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act or, if applicable, the total number of immigrant visas that are made available to natives of the country of the alien’s birth under section 202(e) of such Act.
(e) Denial of Preferential Immigration Treatment for Certain Relatives- The natural parents, brothers, and sisters of Teresa Figueroa shall not, by virtue of such relationship, be accorded any right, privilege, or status under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
I sure hope that doesn’t pass. It makes a complete mockery of the law.
Good American baloney! She is a common crook and thief...
Citizen, her still being here is a complete mockery of the law and an insult to the rest of us that live within the law.
Regards
You are right, we are an attractive nuisance. All of the world’s misfits and bums just have to come here.
Both political parties do this. I’ve heard this before, but I’m not sure from what source.
Illegal Alien = criminal.
End of story.
Those who pander to stunts at the expense of the law disgrace our nation, no matter the party.
