I don’t know about Thompson, but at the Iowa straw poll in Ames, Duncan Hunter very forcefully said that he would never apologize for America. Maybe that’s who you’re thinking of. Maybe that’s who you should be thinking of. ;-)

Ah!! A reasonable post in the midst of a sea of “my moderate candidate is more conservative than your moderate candidate” posts.
Unless I’m losing my mind, I distinctly heard Fred Thompson say he would never apologize for America. Indeed, he went on to mention the many, many Americans who died to free other countries. I also like Duncan Hunter, but if he walked in my door right now I wouldn’t know who he was.
