People who do torture animals and hurt them for fun are people who will do the same to their fellow human beings given the opportunity. True. But they should be criminally prosecuted only when they do harm human beings, not private property.

Thankfully, you're not a lawmaker.

The view of animals as private property argument does not bestow the right to torture, maim, and abuse animals as you desire. Those of you who hold this position really ought to give it more thought (if possible).
