I totally agree. One problem I see today is that our young kids are being turned into whimps by the schools. Not so when I was a kid. I believe that we have a goodly number of cowards in this country and they would be willing to surrender rather than take a chance on getting smacked in the face. All our kids need to spend at least two years in the service.
The advantage we had in growing up, is any male teacher we had was likely to have been a vet of WWII or Korea. One of my most influential English teachers, read Olde English to us, worked as a longshoreman during summer breaks, wrote poetry and walked out of the “Frozen Chosin” with Chesty Puller.
