Thanks. I found
this several months ago, and while it's not really that encouraging on paper -- CO is #10 out of the 50 states in total illegal population, and #6 on a per capita basis -- my visits to CO were filled with towns where all I saw were whites.
Not that all-white is really what I want, particularly -- it would actually be a little weird since I'm so used to the diversity here and like it to some extent -- but I'm tired of the increasing overcrowdedness, the pervasive feeling that I am a minority here in SoCal, the ridiculous amount of graffiti (of which I saw very little even in downtown Denver), not to mention the air quality, insane traffic congestion and all of that. I'm sick of it, and it's only getting worse.
Colorado is experiencing some rapid growth too, I know. (And yeah, I know I'd be contributing to that growth by moving there...) But I see it taking at least 25 years before it is even anywhere close to SoCal's situation. I'm just hoping that the city planners and legislators are smart enough to not allow CO to become another SoCal.
California has over twice as many illegals per capita right now than Colorado, so I think (I hope) CO will in better shape than CA for a good while longer.
I hope I'm making a good choice. Now all I have to do is get used to snow.
