Back when I was a kid they always separated the bright kids from the average kids. It was called the MGM program. Dont think they do that these days.
They don't because that is not P.C. and "studies show that placing kids in collaborative groups helps the over-acheivers as well as the students who are behind." Can you tell I've heard that one more than once???
Next question - Can you pay my child to teach the others?

What’s worse is now those overly bright children become distracted and bored in the classroom, and we all know what this leads to.

Next question - Can you pay my child to teach the others? Very similar to the reaction my husband had when I told him some school district drone informed me they need the bright students to help with the others. He looked at me and asked "Where's her paycheck?"

Can you tell I've heard that one more than once??? That's a (bad) blast from the past. The words I hated to hear were "Karl's in our group so we don't have to work." Grrrr!
