She ended up embarassed that she didn’t have a man. I know a guy who is like the husband. I can’t stand to be around him because every sentence has to be parsed. “What do you mean by that?”. She’s basically living with a woman.

There is so much wrong here I don’t know where to begin. But to find just one point, it does seem interesting that she cared so much what other people think that she got rid of her daughters father. This is why I hated the movie Tootsie. Its like the women fired the husband. Husband is not a job. You don’t fire your wife for not house cleaning. You sit down and figure out how the cleaning will get done.

It does not seem to bother this lady that the man who is taking her daughter to the park is not her father. I think she is a terribly selfish women who reads to many magazines and bad TV.

I’ll translate the story from below 14th Street New Yorkese to actual english.

I got out of grad school, worked my ass off in a cut throat field, advanced and had a kid. Hubby wasn’t getting with the program. Even though I set him up with numerous job interviews, nothing was good enough for him. So I dumped the do-nothing bum while I was still young enough to land something respectable.

The woman is a little nuts and a whole lot shallow because of the way she through her marriage away. But she’s insane for writing down and then actually selling this story.

Looks like something my wife would drink.

While I’m having a beer.

It’s a Cuban drink. Trendy about two or three years ago.

"I imagined being married to, well, someone like me...."

There it is in nutshell....immature and self-centered...it's the all about "ME" generation....

The dumped spouse she count his blessings that he got out while he still has a chance to make a new life for himself....

OK OK so i bartended for a couple of years in college.

Its a Mint Julep with Rum instead of Bourbon, then put a lime on it and maybe some sparkling water (aka soda). The Bacardi company is working very hard to make this drink common because Rum and Coke has become so passe.

It is also a good point to this story. This lady is so image centric that she is putty in Bacardi’s hands. They want her to buy rum and so all they need to do is put a mojito in the hands of one of the sex and the city gals as well as a Cosmo model and this lady is divorcing her husband to find a man who can make a good mojito.

I agree with you about the seriousness of the feminist theology. A part of marxism, with the clear goal of destroying western civilization. One of marxism’s main goals is to destroy the family unit. And one reason for that is to ‘break the chain’ of father’s passing on to sons the age old cultural belief systems. From teaching girls in school that being a careerist is more important then a mother.. to generous welfare benefits to single moms, to judges ruling for no fault divorce, many people in powerful positions are marxist agents.

Thats part of why its sad to me that when we have a republican president the first goal isn’t to stop the feminist indoctrination in the schools. In fact if anything even under Reagan and Bush I saw an expansion of the suicidal belief system.

You are right too.. we can survive horrible losses to war, economic catastrophe but if we don’t reproduce and or pass on our beliefs we die.

She has a kid with a loser husband (film school? Give me a break!) and then ditches him. Then she’ll end up wondering why her kid is screwed up.

Hah! Well ... that explains a goofy Bacardi TV commercial i've seen a few times.

I thank God everyday for my wife as well....not to say we don't have our ups and downs; we all do.....but compared to what I've seen out there, I married a real keeper...

Thank you Lord...

She’s living the life she wants to live and isn’t bothering anyone

Let's see, she dumps her husband whose main fault seems to have been not living up to her magazine spread image of life and marriage- rather than talking to him and having a real relationship. Presumably does a stint as the single mom, dating until she winds up with another guy, much like the first, only this guy is "sexy" and can translate stuff. She then writes an article on how happy she is with her new sexy husband, too bad for the first guy and marriage vows. But she's not bothering anyone, her and a million like her. Fickle, silly women.
