There are over 1200 comments posted to the Kos thread on this bit o' treason.

Whether the report by the Kos poster, screen name Maccabee, is accurate is something that needs to be investigated by the Navy ASAP. If true, hopefully they'll keelhaul the traitor before bringing her back home for trial.

It's not treason.

It's espionage.

More than likely, this is BS... In fact, it could be a planted story to "take out" a female LSO that one of the KOSsacks hates. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

Either way, the poster needs to be found, and he needs a serious talking to by the FBI and NCIS.

Pure Fiction. In the military, plans are briefed on a need-to-know basis. Up to the time when the actual operation commences a LSO does not have the need-to-know about impending air-strikes. The only thing they will be given is launch and recovery times, everything else is scuttlebutt.

“I have a friend who is an LSO on a carrier attack group...

Strange use of terms for someone who seems familiar with miitary terms. A LSO is assigned to a single ship, not a group.

that is planning and staging a strike group deployment into the Gulf of Hormuz.... That means that all the targets have been chosen, prioritized, and tasked to specific aircraft, bases, carriers, missile cruisers and so forth.

Standard proceedure for any potential threat. Nothing unusual here.

“But we’re all just waiting for this administration to end."

Pure, un-adulterated, BS.

Today, orders just come down from the mountaintop and there’s no questioning. In fact, there is no discussing it.

That's the way it works. President gives a order (he is C-in-C, after all), the Joint Chiefs decide how to make it work and issue the appropriate orders down the chain. They don't tend to ask the opinion of the ships captain other than to inquire if it can or cannot be done.

We’re not stupid.

Well, if you are who you say you are and you're not just a figment of Kos's imagination... You Are.

We are shipping in and assigning every damn Tomahawk we have in inventory.

She just change hats from LSO to Armaments Officer who knows how many Tomahawks we have in inventory. Incidently, Tomahawks are not generally deliverd by aircraft carriers or carrier-born aircraft. So again, how would she know?

“That’s what’s missing. A real sense of purpose. What’s missing is the answer to what the hell are we doing out here threatening this country with all this power? Last night in the galley, an ensign asked what right do we have to tell a sovereign nation that they can’t build a nuke. I mean the table got EF Hutton quiet. Not so much because the man was asking a question that was off culture. But that he was asking a good question. In fact, the discussion actually followed afterwards topside where someone in our group had to smoke a cigarette. The discussion was intelligent but also in lowered voices. It’s like we aren’t allowed to ask the questions that we always ask before combat. It’s almost as if the average seaman or soldier is doing all the policy work.”

And that folks is just plain ludicrous. That one snapped the mainspring on my BS meter.

I’m sure this is just more BS from Kos. There have been claims that the US is going to attack Iran, along with timetables, for over a year now, and each one has been BS. Of course Iran is going to be liberated, and US forces will be involved. Some left wing moron has just concocted another using easily verified (or disconfirmed) details.

Here’s mine.

The mullahcracy of Iran will be overthrown and the people of Iran will be doing the beheading of those Shiite-heads. The armed forces of Iran will be destroyed in hours or days by US forces, and the Arab / PLO thugs will make a run for the borders when their paymaster’s checks start bouncing. This will take place as early as 2008, or as late as 2010 (IOW, in the next administration).

I’d be very, very skeptical of anything from Kos. If it can’t be verified by independent sources, I would assume that it’s the Kosites propaganda machine. IF, and that’s a big IF, there was some truth to the source of this classified information, I hope the Navy finds her, and she spends the rest of her life in prison. On the other hand, this could be false information put out by our own government. Would that not be ironic? The Kosites would be actually helping our military.

Today, orders just come down from the mountaintop and there’s no questioning.

Before Bush was elected, seamen and privates could give orders to admirals and generals, and they would be obeyed without question.
