Well, I'm going to pipe in here...
My son is in the 101st, and this will be his first tour.
And he's looking forward to it, he hates garrison duty.

When my grandfather was working toward his master's degree in history at Mississippi State, he wrote a paper detailing the mistakes that Custer made during the Little Bighorn Campaign.

His professor came up to him after class a few days later and asked him if he really meant what he'd written about Custer, for the professor had always assumed that all Army folks liked Custer.

Upon hearing this, my grandfather went into a full-blown old horse cavalryman rant about the idiocies that Custer exhibited throughout his career, stating that he should have been drummed out of the Army long before the Little Bighorn.
