Once TIROS was up we began to know what we had been missing, and that was a lot.

The Scientific Method

A scientist was showing a colleague how he could make a Grasshopper jump on command. He pulled the grasshopper from his cage put him on the lab table and demanded it JUMP! Sure enough the grasshopper jumped.

He then pulled off one of the grasshoppers legs and again commanded it to JUMP! which it did. Each time he pulled off another leg and although not as well the Grasshopper jumped when ordered.

The Grasshopper was down to one leg but miraculously when commanded to jump still managed to accomplish the feat.

The scientist then pulled off the last leg and ordered the Grasshopper to JUMP!....nothing, again, JUMP!..... nothing.

The scientist then took out his log and wrote

Conclusion: “I have definitively proven that a Grasshoppers hearing appararatus is located in it’s legs.”

“Landsea said he believes that global warming causes fewer hurricanes because it increases vertical wind shear, which tears apart the storms.”

So first global warming would cause more storms, then that didn’t pay off so now global warming causes fewer storms...

Almost sounds like they want it both ways.

I’m sure we’ll soon see the stories about how many lives and dollars global warming will save due to fewer hurricanes, right?

Go figure, yesterday was a chance of rain with scattered clouds and sunshine. Spent the afternoon on the deck in the sun (never a cloud in the sky), rigged up an extra long cable for my TV then moved it onto the deck and watched Michigan get their butts whipped............

0% accuracy in ALL predictions........

And it didn’t only happen back then. Look at last years storms.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/2006atlan.shtml

They missed the second storm. Found it later and added it back in to make 10 storms for the year. It’s the unnamed (2nd) storm.

The polar bear savers are gonna be mighty disappointed.

And I was lookin' forward to gittin' rid of the polar bears, at least in Alaska. Nuts, with hurricanes as normal, then ice will be as normal, it ain't gonna melt.

Leave it to liberals and socialists to fudge the facts to fit their agenda.

Definitely more storms and hurricanes then they knew about If storms weren't on regular sea routes they never got reported. Even then a lot of ships were not part of the weather reporting system as were American flag ships. During the Viet Nam war the Navy sent the bomb ships I was on every where but regular sea routes. We reported a lot of storms they had no idea about.

Global Warming is also the culprit for more stars being observed in the 20th Century. :^) (Sorry Pluto)

Did you know that the weather channel never provided any live info on hurricanes before 1980, therefore they did not exist prior to that time.

I wish these people would quit clouding the issue with the facts. Poor Al is going to be ever more twisted in his continued assault on reason.

So far, Gabrielle has dropped 4.14 inches of rain on Beaufort, N.C.; the current Weather Underground humidity is 89% in heavy rain, mist and fog with just over one mile visibility.

Back when I was paid to keep a close eye on the weather this was a physical impossibility but back then I had to go out in the rain to the instrument shelter and measure these things.

I don’t trust a single automated instrument in use today and nothing is going to change my mind.

Almost sounds like they want it both ways.

They do. On the one hand they're desperate to save the planet, but on the other it almost has to destroy itself to convince us Luddites that there might be something to worry about. For the left there are always so many problems, so little tax revenue.
