I became an independent in 92...(I couldn’t just move to the enemy in one fell swoop), and I came around to the Republican party in 93 or 94. I met my husband in 95, (then active duty AF) fell in love, and married him.
My liberal sister said that I only became a Republican because my husband was in the military. (She came from the same stock I did, so...........WTF?????)
It’s been a few tough years between us, and we’re patching things up (we’re sisters, y’know), and I still have hope for her. She’s no dummy, but she IS brainwashed.
Pray for us. We’re gonna need it.
