So I take it you've yet to find anything from Fred, despite his "Federalism", on his uderstanding that America is a Republic.
I figured that the last couple of days while I was recovering from the hurricane we had here was enough time to find something.
Do you need more time or need to call in some help? Or have you simply found nothing (as I did)?

I've said numerous times that any candidate who called America the Republic that it is gets my support.
Paul has done so and nobody has shown me anything from the other candidates...yet. I'm patient.

Well thanks for the answer. In total your mission expectations can never be accomplished. Some are simply unrealistic IMO...(We need to get rid of a group of people called "Al Qaeda"...) There are new people joining every day and they're not all going to Iraq to fight. You're, basically, advocating a world wide crusade against an idea moreso than a group. The group can be eliminated, the idea is harder to eliminate. It probably never will.

Since you expect the impossible, and since you haven't answered the second question, you must believe their mission to be an endless one, 'cause that's what it's going to take to accomplish your impossible dream, which will never be fulfilled.

You have to realize that to be an End Times Crusader, you have to be living in the End Times. If you're living in the End Times, then this coutry has no future beyond your generation and you will make your decisions and act accordingly.

If we apply that to our political decisions, it can easily be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I don’t recall the original message, but I get several hundred pings per day. I’m about to go to a funeral of a local Marine. I’ll look into this later.

Never mind, that took about 2 seconds.. albeit, he doesn’t use the specific word republic, the principle is there. I’ve known you long enough to know that you care more about principle than the use of a single word:

If, however, you are more concerned about the symbolism of a specific word versus the substance of a principle, I see no reason to go further with this.

“Did the bait catch what you wanted?”

I don't go fishing in the East River. All you pull up is used tires and other garbage floating below the surface.

I’ve known you long enough to know that you care more about principle than the use of a single word:
You're right, I do care about principle, but I ALWAYS use the word Republic and simply by using that one single word I'm expressing the inherent principles contained within that word.
And speaking of principles, peppered throughout that article is the concept of...
... our system of federalism...
Federalism places the emphasis on the federal being predominate instead of the States and the people.
Furthermore, when you find the definition of federalism, according to Fred...Federalism is the belief that not every problem should have a federal solution...you find that his principle behind federalism may not be what you first thought federalism to be. His "federalism" is nothing more than a belief and a redefinition of what federalism is normally perceived to be.
Let's hear it from Fred himself...
Fred Thompson on Battle With Cancer, Possible Presidential Bid
THOMPSON: With regard to Social Security, he tried, to his everlasting credit.
CAVUTO: How would a President Thompson change that?
THOMPSON: …it was DOA. Well, there are a lot of parts to that. You have to ultimately have the support of the American people. It is not a matter of kumbaya-ing over at — with Congress; it is having the support of the American people. That is where the power is in a democracy, and in a republic such as ours as a people.
Federalism Accountability Act
That's why federalism is at the heart of our Democracy.
Snip...But unless we really understand that federalism is the foundation of our governmental system, these bright achievements will fade.
The only problem is that republicanism, not federalism, is the foundation of our governmental system. This "federalism" BS will eventually lead into a federation, whether it be national, continental or global.

The Federalist Papers : No. 14
I remark here only that it seems to owe its rise and prevalence chiefly to the confounding of a republic with a democracy, applying to the former reasonings drawn from the nature of the latter.

He too confounds a republic with a democracy.
Sorry, but you've failed miserably in convincing me that Fred understands the concept of republicanism, which his "federalism" isn't.

Good God Help Us, imagine if people like Ron Paul and Wexler actually get power here?

I still grit my teeth when I even think of Wexler during the impeachment hearings in 1998, and his shining moment in front of the national audience was repeatedly shouting "GOD HELP THIS NATION!"

So what you are saying is we should be reactive rather than proactive fighting the war on terrorism?

The main battleground fighting Al Qaeda as proclaimed by Al Qaeda is Iraq.

All you pull up is used tires and other garbage floating below the surface.

That's what I find when I look under the surface of these RP threads. If you want to deal in tacit accusations and implied threats built on half-truths expect to have them labeled for what they are.

That's what you're interpreting my words as. I've said nothing of the sort.

The main battleground fighting Al Qaeda as proclaimed by Al Qaeda is Iraq.
Newsweak? LOL
Bin Laden’s Iraq Plans
Bin Laden believes that Iraq is becoming the perfect battlefield to fight the “American crusaders” and that the Iraqi insurgency has been “100 percent successful so far,” according to a Taliban participant at the mid-November meeting who goes by the nom de guerre Sharafullah.
Ok, whatever. Anyway...before it was Iraq it was Afghanistan.
