Al-Qaida militants in Iraq have taken heavy losses in two joint U.S.-Iraqi raids north of Baghdad, the U.S. military reported Thursday.
In one operation involving more than 1,000 U.S. troops and Iraq Special Forces in the Hemreen mountain area and Diyala river valley, three al-Qaida fighters were killed and 80 others were arrested, the Army statement said.
The report said four of the arrested men are considered senior leaders in the terror group, Kuwait's KUNA news agency reported. U.S. air support was used to conclude the raid, after which a major weapons cache was found, the statement said.
Elsewhere in Salah Al-Din province, U.S. forces arrested 12 al-Qaida suspects and destroyed an entire house packed with explosives and weaponry, the report said.

"finally killing people"
Those close followers of the actually events of the war would know we have been killing and capturing Al Qaeda and the terrorist in Iraq in masses for a long time. Some have just had their heads buried in the sand from listening to the MSM. We are winning and Al Qaeda is losing and Iraq will be a stabilized country that is an ally of ours in the WOT.

3 killed and 80 arrested? Every arrestee needs to stand on a gallows with about 4 inches of rope slack around their neck. They will be promised that each good lead they provide will delay the pull of the lever one additional day.
Below the gallows will be a pen full of hungry pigs. Those who don't cooperate will be told that the lever will be pulled and their corpse cut down to feed those pigs.

Am I just jaded? 3 killed doesn’t sound like heavy losses. It’s a good start, though.

Heavy losses? One house, three KIA? I guess they don't make wars like they used to.

Depends on who the three are, and who got captured. If they are high enough up the food chain, they could be heavy.

"Below the gallows will be a pen full of hungry pigs. Those who don't cooperate will be told that the lever will be pulled and their corpse cut down to feed those pigs." We could stop most of this muslim nonsense if they knew that we would take their remains and bury them with large quantities of pork fat. No heaven, no 72 virgins, no reason to die for allah.
There is some reason that we don't fight this battle on the psychological-level and, IMO, it indicates that Albert Pike's letter wrt 3 World Wars is genuine.

“pigs.”
I just don’t think the pig terror will work anymore. Some bunch o’ imams will just declare that if an infidel besmirches you with pig juice, you will be guaranteed a spot next to mohamed,( may penises be up him).

Wow, I’ll say. I was expecting to see hundreds KIA. 3 are you kidding me they probably spawned 10 times that many in one day alone.

“Al-Qaida militants in Iraq have taken heavy losses..”
The “militants” (read terrorists) in Iraq are mere dumb cannon fodder and are expendable and easily replaced. They’re the “72 virgins” crowd.
The smart and educated terrorists either cross our open borders, visit the US as tourists or immigrates. These are the ones that should take the heavy losses. Instead they are coddled and receive privileged treatment.
