I’d like this fall a little better if it rained.

Morning, all. Just here briefly. In teleconference all day (the second teleconf), but it’s lunchtime for the meeting attendees back there right now.

I’ve been to Wal-mart. We bought Pat a black sweatsuit and hat, so he can be Invisible for Halloween. He’ll have to stay in the yard, though, or he’ll get run over!

Patrick is going to be dressed as “darkness” for halloween?

Has he been watching too much ‘Heroes’?

Rush is still a puppy??

Not much. I think my daughter is going home today, so I’ll have to help her tomorrow. Her BP keeps dropping, so they aren’t letting her go, yet.

Well he was 1 year on October 8th, but I think he will always be ‘the puppy’ to DH.

Is the BP due to the operation?
How is she doing?

Yes the BP is due to the surgery. Psychologically, she’s ready to go home and get on with her life. We’re hoping they’ll let her go this evening.

She’ll feel better when she gets home.

Hospitals suck. They are full of sick people.

And some people get sick and die there!

She works in a sleep lab, and also still has her license for phlebotomy, so she has been in the medical field for 20 years. She’s anxious to go home.

You made me look it up. I really like #1.
LOL!

VENIPUNCTURE PROCEDURE

The venipuncture procedure is complex, requiring both knowledge and skill to perform. Each phlebotomist generally establishes a routine that is comfortable for her or him. Several essential steps are required for every successful collection procedure:

1. Identify the patient.

2. Assess the patient’s physical disposition (i.e. diet, exercise, stress, basal state).
3. Check the requisition form for requested tests, patient information, and any special requirements.
4. Select a suitable site for venipuncture.
5. Prepare the equipment, the patient and the puncture site.
6. Perform the venipuncture.
7. Collect the sample in the appropriate container.
8. Recognize complications associated with the phlebotomy procedure.
9. Assess the need for sample recollection and/or rejection.
10. Label the collection tubes at the bedside or drawing area.
11. Promptly send the specimens with the requisition to the laboratory.
