(AP) WEARE, N.H. First, a father was charged with beating up his daughter's boyfriend last week after learning the two had sex. Now, police are preparing to charge the boy with sexual assault.
The 17-year-old boy from Henniker, who admitted to having sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend, will "absolutely" be charged, police said.
Weare Detective Lou Chatel said the boy will be charged as an adult and could face up to a year in jail.
Both teens admitted to having sex during school hours on Sept. 10, but off school property, Chatel said. That afternoon, he said, the girl's father went to John Stark Regional High School and attacked the boy.
School had just let out and the parking lot was filled with students and parents.
The boy suffered cuts and bruises and received two stitches to his face. The father was charged with simple assault.
It all began that morning when the girl did not show up for her first class, even though she had been seen at school.
School officials searched the building, then put out a school-wide page. When the girl didn't respond, they called her parents.
Principal Michael Turmelle the parents helped search for their daughter, called her cell phone and coordinated with school officials.
The teens returned to school at the same time, through separate doors.
The principal said he's upset at the number of people who have sided with the father.
"We all work so hard to give our kids a safe place to go to," he said. "Any time we have an act of violence, it's very upsetting because it is completely antithetical to what we're trying to accomplish."
The girl and her siblings have transferred to another school, Turmelle said.
People and the media throw around the word “beating” pretty loosely. Dad was charged with simple assault. It’s not like one of those internet videos where the kid was being pounded by a group for 5 minutes after he was down.
You’re so right! Seeing how some parents allow these girls 13-18 dress like prostitutes and come to school, and then wonder why they’re getting pregnant at 13. Like I said a lot of the macho posters on this sight are guilty of the same thing they’re so upset about when it becomes their daughter we’re talking about, typical.

Simple assault can leave scars, and one mans simple assault can be another mans beating. Would you like to depend on that gut stopping at simple assault if it were your son or might he go a little further like some of the people posting.

In New Hamphsire the age of consent is 16. If the girl were 16 or even 17 she could legally have consenual sex and still be legally a minor.
Same old divide we always see when the topic of youthful sex comes up on this forum—the “social conservatives” (a minority, even here) vs. the “everybody’s doing it” crowd. The thread is not really about the propriety of the dad’s actions; it’s about the propriety of the teenage boy’s actions. The truth is that most FReepers would have no problem if an upperclassman took their teenage daughter out of school for a little sex-ed lab (with a possible side trip to Planned Parenthood a few weeks later).
Pretend that you are the father of a 15 year old girl. One morning she goes to school. That afternoon you get a call from the principal, telling you that she disappeared shortly after arriving, that they have conducted a search of the entire campus and she is still missing.
You immediately leave work, meet your wife at school, and help the principal try to find her, frantically trying to contact her on her cell phone. Later, she is found sneaking back into school with her boyfriend. Apparently, one or both confess to spending the day screwing off campus.
Perhaps I am just a self righteous iron fisted brute, but I must confess that under these facts I probably would have smacked the boyfriend a few times too.
O.K., Mr. Principal. Sure. ...But why aren't you upset about the events that occured previously while you were en loco parentis? They were firmly in your custody and under your supervision at the time. It is rather excessive to charge YOU with statutory rape, but you had a part to play in the events by your negligence...and your one-sided outrage suggests condoning.

I would guess that most of the time it's not in public in front of a school. I would also gues most of the time the little scum bag knows he's done wrong and accepts what he had coming to him.
You "enlightened" people here need to realize that Dads have been protecting their young daughters for all of recorded history and longer. Thirty years ago this wouldn't have been newsworthy, other than maybe the part where the dirtbag kid gets convicted.

I’m not feeling a bit sorry for somebody who is sticking Mr. Ding-ding where he doesn’t belong. A 17-year-old is old enough to know better. If he doesn’t, he’s learning now the hard way.
