Why has Hunter never held a leadership position in Congress or elsewhere? I like his perspective but I doubt his team-playing or Aministration-building skills
He has held a leadership position in Congress. He was chairman of the powerfull House Armed Services Committee.
Hunter has been a leader in Congress for many years, most recently the chairmen of the Armed Services Committee
He chaired the Armed Services Committee, actually.
>Why has Hunter never held a leadership position in Congress or elsewhere?<
To answer your rather snide question, Rep. Hunter is ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, formerly its chairman for four years. I’d call that important leadership. He commands great respect from both sides of the Congressional aisle.
Being a visionary, Rep. Hunter could see where the country was going wrong many years ago. He authored and introduced bills to get the country back on track, including rebuilding our military and its equipment which was so diminished by Bill Clinton.
He is still his congressional job, even while campaigning.
