DNC Statement on National Coming Out Day

Washington, DC - Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and Rick Stafford, chair of the DNC's GLBT Caucus, today issued the following statement on National Coming Out Day:

"Today, in celebrating National Coming Out Day, we honor the courage and dignity of the millions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans who have made the decision to live openly in our society. Coming out is an act of personal courage that truly empowers people to stand up for their values. As Democrats, one of those values is our commitment to equal rights and protections under the law for every single American.

"After beating back last year's mean-spirited attempts by Republicans to scapegoat the LGBT community for partisan gain, Democrats in Congress passed the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, freeing countless people from the threat of hate-based violence, and are working to end employment discrimination. Democrats have enacted family and job protections in states across the country, and at the DNC we have adopted new party rules that significantly expand LGBT participation in the 2008 Democratic National Convention and throughout our Party. Together, we are making real progress toward making our country and our Party stronger, and helping pave the way for more lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans to take the brave step out of the closet."

Yeah, this is the "American Way" that the DNC celebrates.

Caution: The report you are about to view of the 2007 Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco contains newsworthy images of people engaged in sexual behavior in public. Although these images are not intended to be pornographic, some people may regard them as such. Because of this, only adults age 18 or over may view the images on the following page. http://zombietime.com/folsom_sf_2007_part_1/

From ZOMBIETIME.COM (a website the photo chronicles the abusrd anti-war people of San Francisco)

Government agencies are supporting this with taxpayers dollars. It is actually on the calendar and those that complain have to attend “diversity training”. It is sickening.

Why in the hell do people consider it “brave” and “courageous” to tell the world about your sex life!!!!!

Would it be brave and courageous for me to go out and shout to the neighbors about my heterosexuality???

Why are we “celebrating” this nonsense???!!!!

helping pave the way for more lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans to take the brave step out of the closet.

With as many HR departments as are influenced--if not run--by GLBTs, particularly at universities, many potential hirees without much hope elsewhere for merit-based jobs--let alone advancement--will coddle to their new massahs' perverse proclivities. (In the old days, they would've tucked a cigarette behind (above) an ear.)

Many a public school lost soul gets recruited sucked-up hired into an environment where hetero-bashing (e.g., gone before the six-months probation is complete) is all-too-common. Pretty soon their pierced by more than just a few needles.

"Turn 'em or burn 'em!"

Gays have a job-and-retirement security (if they can butt live that long) of which you and I and many minorities can only dream. They certainly know how to butter each others' bread, so to speak.

There is no bravery to proclaim yourself G,L,B or T in that environment. It's more akin to a pretty little 18-year-old girl screaming, "First one's free, boys!" at the Chicken Ranch.

...and many a parent's hope for fine families for their children and grand-children are dashed in the fashion of Psalms 137.

The decline of ancient Rome continues apace. After we have our heads firmly jammed in a sewer, I’m wondering what comes afterwards. The Middle Ages followed the decline of ancient Rome and Greece. People eventually rebel against moral decay. I’m not Christian, but I comfort myself with the (unrealistic?) notion that something glorious will emerge, but not until this civilization is out of the picture. It’s one way of looking at it, anyway.
