If they’re smart, they’ll hire that same private firm that got the SF highway bridges put back up so fast to repair/rebuild it.

Contractor: C C Meyers: Same guy that rebuilt the Santa Monica Freeway after the 1994 quake wiped it out. He also built the Lowe’s Speedway in Charlotte used for NASCAR races.
He’s a hell of a guy- Goes in and OVERBUILDS so that he doesn’t have to piddle around with the Cal-Trans engineers over a 1/4 inch of something here or there. He throws massive numbers of workers and larger re-bar and more concrete and just GETS IT DONE.
I think it was only 19 days or so that he repaired the 580/880 intersection that collapsed in SF.
