When Gov. of Massachusetts he did not raise taxes, he raised fees. The line item veto has been declared unconstitutional.

More pandering by Mitt.

palaver \puh-LAV-uhr; puh-LAH-vur\, noun:
1. Idle talk
2. Talk intended to beguile or deceive.

Line Item Veto. Unconstitutional. Period. Useless boob bait of something that at best is ten years out, and having nothing to do with the Presidency now or for a decade or more. People lap it up though.

A real conservative wouldn’t make Bush’s tax cuts permanent, they would do even more. A timid, me-too, but not any more statement.

Why is Hillary the ideological standard upon which to navigate from? And anyways, what, did Mitt win already?

If American corporations didn’t have fear of lawyers, we’d be like China. By the way, President Bush wants to do away with federal food inspections. Fine. And Mitt wants to whack down lawsuits too? Then what?

What is Mitt going to force his Chinese business partners and money men to open their countries? Is he going to cut piggish, farm subsidies and allow low cost agricultural goods?

Don’t think so. Except at the very margins of future based tax policy, I didn't hear any red meat conservative attack on the bloated corrupt thieving Federal government, it's waste and burdens which are materially and morally wrong. Too aggressive for Mitt. I suppose for a financialist, Mitt really felt he was putting pedal to the metal..Woo-hoo what a wild man. 'Cann't wait until he, as he said, meets the Democrats halfway. Bipartisan.( you know the drill) Sunshine and apple pie.

Club For Growth: "[O]n balance, he imposed some much-needed fiscal discipline on a very liberal Massachusetts Legislature." (The Club For Growth, "Mitt Romney's Record On Economic Issues," Press Release, 8/21/07)

Massachusetts Citizens For Limited Taxation Executive Director Barbara Anderson Gives Governor Romney's Fiscal Record High Marks. 'To us a fee is what a fee is and a tax is what a tax is,' she said. 'His support for the income tax rollback never wavered.'"

Romney's plan also includes much needed regulatory relief:

"Our regulatory burden is also overbearing. I'd re-institute a regulatory relief board to cut back the regulation weeds that choke off growth. One that deserves pruning is Sarbanes Oxley - it's driving away IPO's, depressing jobs, and requiring billions of unnecessary cost. Executives who violate the law should go to jail, but the entire economy shouldn't have pay an inordinate price for the sins of the few bad actors."

I think I’ve made it clear I’m not a Romney fan, but I’ve got no complaints on his position on taxes and trade.
