Damn, a very spry 70 year old!

Did he have a fuel tanker?
How else could you steal 10000 gallons?

By driving an SUV. A lot.

Side bet:

He has a tanker truck and told the gas stations he would sell them really cheap gas that he, uh, found.

Then he’s suck their tank dry, goober the measurement equipment to show the owner a big delivery, and get a check made out to cash (or maybe even cash money) for $2.00 a gallon.

He gets the gas and cash!

The owner thought he was buying stolen gas, so he’s a *little* reluctant to come forward...

What do you want to bet this guy has been doing nefarious things since his teens? No telling how many years he has been making off with the gas! They just have a guess that it has been since Jan.

To steal the fuel, Gibson would park his trailer over the openings to underground gas tanks. Then, deputies say, he would get in the trailer, remove a false floor, take off the tank cap, and put his own hose right in. Detectives say Gibson even dropped wooden blocks around the hole so no one would see what he was doing.

The trailer sat low to the ground, making it difficult even for trained law enforcement to see how Gibson did it.

Saw this on last night's news. He had a large closed trailer with a BIG tank in it and a hole in the floor. He had an electric pump driven by marine batteries.

He'd pull into a station and park the trailer over the fill pipe for the tanks and start pumping.

The story said they have store surveillance video of him chatting with a state trooper while he was pumping the fuel from the tank

***10 Gallons at a time, a thousand times. “umm, I’ll pay you for that next Tuesday”. You’d think the owner would catch on.
