Today’s AJC had a surprisingly good article about the letter by AP reporter Brian Skoloff.
No quotes by Reid and all the facts reported correctly.
The article’s last paragraph: “Limbaugh was responding to a caller several weeks ago when he used the phrase “phony soldiers.” He has said he was only referring to one speific soldier who has spoken out against the war while claiming to have seen combat. That soldier was kicked out of the Army in 2003 and sentenced to prison last month for collecting benefits he was not entitled to.”
Even as accurate as that part is, it omits MacBeth's name so that nobody can look into it further. It also makes no mention at all of his being trotted out by the leftists to tell his tall tales of atrocities that he claimed our troops committed. (I'll give them a C for the effort, though.)
The last paragraph is the dead paragraph. Reporters put the stuff they do not really want to report there because editors ofthen chop off the last paragraph, excerpts do not include it, and people don’t read that far.
It should have been the first or second paragraph.
