Actually, I believe that London is considered to have a more vibrant, high-end food scene than Paris, these days. (Of course, I am sure that the London chefs have not earned that lofty reputation by sticking with the traditional local fare.)
It's nice that it's "in" with the current "in crowd", but I kinda' like a place where the food tastes really good and all the "John Kerry's" of the world would avoid it like the plague.
I like food for its taste and not for how it fits in on the social ladder.
