It’s not homosexuality, per se, that bothers me. I couldn’t care less about that. It’s the anal sex angle that I think is a little odd, peculiar, distasteful, and unhealthy.

I’m not so tolerant of things that get close to my butt, if you get my drift. I also have limits about teeth getting too close to me for that matter.

Unlike the sin of homosexuality, the other sins you cite – the sins of adultery, fornication, racism, pride, jealousy, selfish ambition and drunkenness – do not have the benefit of a tremendously powerful and prosperous lobby that is blindly supported by people in positions of political influence, and other leftists in media and elsewhere who have been duped by the crafty and disingenuous rhetoric of “tolerance” and “diversity.”

There are no postive mentions of any homos in the whole bible, yet the bible is filled with positive mentions of other sexual sins. This particular sexual sin is the kind that can take a whole city and then get it nuked from Heaven.

I don’t single out homosexuals... they are singling themselves out. The “sin that dare not speak its name” now won’t shut the hell up.

Excellent article. Your point is correct—it’s the relentless assault on biblical morality and traditional values by the homosexual lobby that makes homosexuality a daily item of attention. If an equally powerful lobby was trying to force us to accept bigamy or pedophilia, we’d be talking about that just as much.

Homosex is especially vile and deprived. I can’t really explain why. I don’t have to.

I think the main reason sodomy is such a divisive issue is because the sodomites have been forcing it onto the rest of us.

Somewhere in the Bible there is a verse that says effectively that being gay is such an abomination and so deeply affects the person, that it changes the person’s countenance. You know that weird queer look many of them get?? Well, that’s what this verse is taking about.

I would say it’s exactly the other way around. Homosexuals are the ones transfixed on the issue and make a big deal about it, because they insist it is not a sin.

Christians are just plain made sick in the stomach, considering what homosexuality is and reject it. It’s not like Christians are ever going to say “oh yes that’s sweet.”

It’s like if I craved money so much that I insist robbing banks is not breaking the law. While the police keep insisting that it is breaking the law. Yet I keep insisting it is not breaking the law. Who then is making a big stink about it, me or the cops??

1. In Sodom and Gommora, the locals demanded to “know” Lot, violently.
2. God did indeed “nuke” Sodom and Gommora for the sins in which they openly engaged.
3. In modern times, the homos clamor for “inclusion” in the workings of the church, and many churches are embracing that worldly demand.
4. I don’t want to fill in the blank for this, but I don’t like the example of number 2.

All you homosexual equivocators need to go online, take your kid filters off and look up some movies on what homosexuals do to one another for pleasure routinely.

Then get back to me about how they are “normal”.

It is a perversion, one they may enjoy but a perversion nonetheless.

They are also neurotic as hell and need to project themselves on the rest of us.

They can deny it till the cows come home but they love turning out young boy-men. They are shamless about that in a way that straight men would never be with say a 14-15 year old virgin girl.

They can do what they want privately like I do as a heterosexual but that’s it. No special treatment like blacks. No teching their crap to my children. No watering down my church with their garbage.

Just live their lives with some restrained dignity if they can.

They’re mixed up....might even be genetic...doesn’t matter ...it just is.

I think one of the many, many issues with homosexuality is that it is completely divorced from the purpose of sex for the conception of children.

And logically, homosexuality just doesn’t comport with society’s custom of separating the sexes in private areas, to avoid the discomfort of having someone who is potentially sexually interested in you sharing close quarters. That’s why allowing openly gay people in the military is not the same as racial desegregation. Facilities are still “segregated” by sex - restrooms, locker rooms, barracks, etc. - which is fine with me. The same logic that would allow openly gay people in the military would also support fully co-ed facilities.

The same argument holds true for same-sex marriage, and the erroneous comparison to interracial marriage. Racial segregation is illegal; single-sex facilities are not.

News flash: men and women are different. I don’t care about people’s private lives, but don’t ask for state recognition of this.

Homosexuality has become something of a cultural barometer for the moral Right. For a society to champion such an abominable cause means that that society is at war with traditional values. That is the reason the Left is pushing the issue so hard; winning this contest means that morality is no longer a binding force in our culture, and that means that values are malleable, clay in the hands of a nefarious sculptor.

When adulterers, embezzelers, thieves, forgers, bigamists and tax frauds start demanding their sins be blessed by the churches then we can stop focusing on the sin of homosexual behavior.

God has a plan for us. Our Heavenly Father has given us the way to a healthy and happy life, yet some see these commandments as restrictive, when in fact they are an expression of love.

"Love the sinner, hate the sin".

It has become difficult to hold true to strongly held beliefs.

The problem lies in the fact that behaviors, once held simply as sinful actions, are being lauded as definers of identity.

**********

BINGO!!

THE ESSENCE OF THE DEBATE!!

After many years of conversation and observation on both sides of these issues....

In my humble opinion....

It's the ADHERENTS/MEMBERS of the subculture of these "alternative lifestyle" sexual behaviors that have INSISTED....
That their patterns of conduct define WHO THEY ARE (G?? L?? B?? T??)....
....Instead of WHAT THEY DO (homosex actitivies).

"God made me this way...."

"I didn't choose these feelings...."

"Change is not an option..."

*************

The Biblical counsel is plain on its face....
Old Testament (Law) and New Testament (Spirit) are in thematic harmony here:

The only question then becomes whether we choose to receive and accurately apply the Word to every aspect of life --
...Including the bedroom.

The Bible stells us that homosex behavior patterns are sinful and destructive--
YET... there remains room to repent--
The "space and grace" everyone needs to overcome life-besetting sinful tendencies and patterns...

THIIISSSSS.... is where the community of faith needs to release God's unconditional love instead of criticism and condemnation....
....And continually encourage each individual in their challenges while and celebrating every victory over sin and death!

*************

For many people -- the addictive sins are not sexual -- but remain destructive....nonetheless.

No one says that changing these patterns and conquering the feelings, attractions, and appetites is easy --

THATTTTTT..... is why we need the life-changing power of God -- the Presence of the Spirit within us to help us win every tug-of-war with the flesh.

It is very hard.... but it is not impossible....
It is worth the struggle to celebrate the deliverance and the daily victory...

The most important part of "getting saved" is the promise of eternal life with God.... through our redemptive relationship with Jesus....

The next provision of mercy is "getting saved from ourselves".. and all of our self-centered attitudes and and self-destructive behaviors... through the constant Presence and life-giving power of the Holy Spirit!

Then choosing to give that same love and mercy away --

None of us are any better than the next person in line for God's provision of life and grace...

FREEDOM...
It is God's will that everyone find the resolve and call upon the resources of heaven to escape every destructive pattern of our fallen nature.

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality....

...or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

--1 Corinthians 6:9-11(NLT)

It's a long post....
But just my humble (convictions)

1st Peter, Chapter 4, speaks to this issue. God speaks through our hearts to let us know what is good, and what is an abomination.

We are to follow Christs lead, forgive those who want to change, but not to subjugate ourselves to those who promote sin.

We must stand up for our beliefs, or Christ will not stand for us in the time of judgment.
