If you love your kids, grandkids - get them out of government run schools.

There’d be nothing whatsoever wrong with stating where in the world this “Journal Inquirer” is from, and WTF “Edwards” is.

The school systems in most cities can’t teach kids to read and write but they are competent enough to teach parenting skills?
What a great idea.

Can you imagine the criteria for such grading?
1. Parents live healthy life-styles, conducive to raising children; i.e. non-smokers, non-drinkers?
2. Parents don't own firearms.
3. Parents aren't members of radical religious sects; e.g., Christianity
4. Parents aren't culturally diverse, etc.

The libs are getting bolder all the time. In 2004 Edwards was on record advocating mandatory civilian service (or else, no diploma) for high school students. Nobody (except criminals) should be doing government mandated, involuntary labor.
Now he’s calling for grading parents?
They all talk about choice, but all they ever do is support increasing government control over our lives.
Totalitarian by any other name still stinks.

Actually, parents who enroll their children in school should be getting the child to school on time (if they don’t take the bus), should be making sure their homework is done, should be making sure the kid is dressed for school and dressed for the weather, and I’d even go as far as to say that the kid should be fed before school. Parents who don’t care about their kids’ education set those kids up for academic and life failures.
Now, I’d be worked up too, if this was about a parent’s ideas, beliefs, or knowledge. But it isn’t.

I liked the idea of encouraging parents to be more involved.
Now that I read the liberal reason for the report card. I am against it too. It is another way to “reach out” to those, helpless, sucky, parents and get the government to help them raise their children.
How about calling out those parents that could do more in the way of supporting their children’s education and letting them do for themselves? Don’t do it for them!!!!
They become dependent....I mean democrats.

The point [is] ... to identify the families who could most benefit from school-based assistance programs. Schools as welfare agencies? Sure. Why not? The track record of entitlement programs is so solid already, why not expand them?
This is what passes for logic in liberal circles. Something doesn't work. So do more of it.
