I was CHEERED by Thompson's remarks.

Well, you're just about the only one. Novak is right. Fred didn't do himself any favors with most pro-life voters with these remarks.

Freds just telling it like it is. We aren’ty going to throw 13 year old lawbreakers in prison. If that causes people to freak out, then too bad.
Vote for Julie-Annie instead.

Um, he is not “about the only one.” I too, applaud Fred Thompson’s orientation on the issue. It was no blunder. One can oppose abortion just fine without using the crude tools of the criminal justice system to eliminate it. Indeed, past history indicates that method is a failure. I’d say Fred is wisely avoiding a trap.

So pro life voters want young girls , under the influence of all manner of authority convincing them to have abortions, to be thrown in jail if they have one? Nice. Go Fred.

Fred is exactly right. The females having these abortions are just about as much victims as the fetuses. The people to focus on are the abortion providers--not EITHER of the victims.

Abortion is a straw man. Both Rudy and Thompson will appoint strict contructionists to the federal bench, thus negating any concern over their fealty to social issues.

The Democrats, on the other hand, will not. Support the GOP nominee.

So? There will be more progress towards eliminating abortion under Fred than under any nonelectable but “perfect” candidate. And definitely better than Rudy or probably Romney as well.

BTW his pro-life voting record ought to mean something...

See my tagline. It applies very well to Huckabee and a lot of other so-called conservatives too.

(Not saying you’re a Huck supporter...but he was the inspiration for my tagline)

I was cheered by Thompson’s remarks, too. Novak has never particularly impressed me, and he doesn’t now, either.
