H.Clinton Lied About Tip
Town Hall ^ | November 09, 2007 | Patrick Ruffini

So it turns out the Clinton camp didn't tip after all.

Kos is running with this:

Esterday said "nobody got tipped that day," and NPR should have checked with the Clinton campaign before the story aired to see if any tip was left and how it was done. We regret that this was not done. On Thursday, Esterday was sticking by her story.

"Why would I lie about not getting a tip?" she told NPR. She also maintained that her co-workers at the restaurant had not received tips.

A Clinton campaign staffer called on Esterday at the restaurant Thursday after the story aired. The staff member apologized to her and gave her a $20 bill, according to Esterday. The Clinton campaign confirmed that visit. The campaign also produced photocopies of receipts showing $157.46 was paid to Maid-Rite on a VISA card on Oct. 8 for meals consumed by the candidate's entourage. The tip was supposed to have been paid in cash, and the campaign insisted such a payment was made but has declined to make available a staff member who was present at Maid-Rite and left tip money [...] "Where Hillary was sitting, there was no tip left," Crawford said.

The republicans need to seize on Queen hillary’s comment “I don’t carry money” and run with it.

How can someone who claims to relate to the working classes, and care about their issues, be so detached from real life that they don’t carry money?

Obviously she never shops for groceries, never fills up a gas tank or take public transportation, and has likely never paid for a meal in the last 20 years, which might explain why she doesn’t know how to tip!

So why would someone who doesn’t ever make buying decisions, doesn’t know the value of money, or the cost of living for the general population, ever be qualified to preside over the finances of an entire nation?

Like hillary, the Queen of England doesn’t carry money, but then she is not in control of the public purse.

Nonsense. If Hitlery doesn’t win the nomination, she’ll be tapped as running mate. Then if the Dems win in November, something bad will happen to the President and VP Hitlery will become President.

Heck, I’m surprised she ran for the Senate instead of the House. By now she’d be Speaker, and Bush and Cheney would be on Arkanside Death Watch. Does anybody really doubt that if Hitlery were currently 3rd in line of succession, that terrorists wouldn’t receive whatever inside help they needed to assasinate Bush, Cheney, et al ?

The Clintons really believe they are Teflon — that they can do anything and nothing will ever stick to them. They need to be kept as far from the Whitehouse as possible, which means Republicans have got to hold it in ‘08.

NOBODY will EVER pick Hillary as VP just for the reason you gave.

“The tip was supposed to have been paid in cash,” Now why would you pay the tab with a credit card and pay the tip in cash? Usually, the reason you do this is so the server can avoid claiming the tip as income.....

I often do this when paying for personal meals. Never when the meal is a business expense. Hillary's campaign has to account for expenditures, and I doubt her accountants would like her doing this.

Even if she WAS doing this, it would be a staffer handling the money. How much you want to bet she has staffers who would not hesitate to pocket the tip money, if they thought they were going to get away with it?

And the story keeps changing/evolving.

Evolving or 'intelligent design'? Either way they should think up some less newsworthy way to cheat the girl out of what she earned.

some idiot forgot to do it, not Hillary, she likely assumed that it would be handled properly

Road trips are what campaigns do. If they (HC to be precise) cannot even organize their roadtrips so that the accounts get settled properly, how are they going to run the US government.

It’;s called LEADERSHIP......she should have instructed her idiot staff to make sure that at EVERY diner, people get tips that have waited on her majesty!! They don’t because she didn’t. Tips are paid by little people TO littler people in Hillary’s world.

Wouldn’t that be GREAT!

I hope she gets the Dem nomination and then gets shellacked in the General Election. That would take the wind out of her sails. Arrogant b!itch.

Has anyone noticed how fast she’s aging and Bill’s voice is almost gone. Wonder what’s causing that. They both seem to be fading fast. Not fast enough for me though.

If they had left a tip, then why leave a $20 after the dust-up?

Because they never left a tip the first time around. Sort of a “I was against the tip before I was for it” story.

Her campaign also sent a $100 savings bond.

How arrogant is that? First of all, the bond costs $50. Then, the fact that it's a bond implies that you think the waitress needs an lecture on frugality.

I guess the campaigning is getting to her.

Let us hope it is getting to all of them.

This expanding the campaign to 1 1/2 - 2 years out is ridiculous. Before you know it, the next presidential campaign will begin the day after the presidential inauguration.
