We have already been losing it. Incrementally. Over the course of the past 73 years.
I'd rather attempt to stop the bleeding now at the risk of "death", rather than do nothing and bleed to death 1-20 years down the road. At least we can get on with what needs to be done.
Agree. I think there is far more to gain by winning this case than there is to lose by losing this case.
We have been losing by degrees and RKBA freedom in Chicago, New York and DC are all but non-existent. Losing this case won’t overturn Alaska’s constitutional RKBA or Vermont’s. It might allow San Francisco to ban handguns while it is previously not allowed. But the trend has been constantly toward less RKBA rights.
On the other hand, a victory here means people in Chicago and New York have an INDIVIDUAL RIGHT to RKBA, just like speech or religion. That is a HUGE change, and the laws in Chicago and NYC would be challenged in light of that legal interpretation of an individual right.
We have way more to gain than lose and the court isn’t likely to get any more RKBA friendly in the future. Cue Elvis, “It’s now or never.”
