Thanksgiving Day according to solid history was a time when different peoples joined together.

The Holiday is about Thanking God, but if someone wishes to publicize a political side of it, that is the true political side.

The Natives and Whites were together in peace that day. That is a fact.

Exactly - haven’t they got their history messed up? If anything you would think they’d have their knickers in a twist about Columbus day, not Thanksgiving.

"The letter also asks teachers to understand that Thanksgiving is a “time of mourning” for many Indian people and a “reminder of 500 years of betrayal.”

Gee, I thought it was a celebration of peace between two cultures. Giving thanks for the bountiful harvest and for the help the Pilgrims received from the Indians. Anyone who goes into "mourning" over this is insane and should be ignored or laughed at.
