From the article: (CNSNews.com) - Presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) has published a list of 10 ways Americans can "address global warming and increase our energy independence" on her Web site.

I think I have isolated a "slight" error in this sentence---LOL!

It’s a safe bet that neither the Clintons nor the Edwards use fluorescent bulbs or water heater blankets in their mansions.

""You can save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year by wrapping your water heater in an insulation blanket," according to HillaryClinton.com. " Proof again that 91 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot. Lies, damnable lies, and statistics...

I'm so proud of you. (as I wipe a small tear of joy from the corner of my eye)

Huge off road (petroleum based) tires I presume?

i gave up on huge tires and carburated engines when i got the whole family unit thing going on. its kinda hard to get the kids buckled into car seats when you’re running 35s.
so i’m driving a durango with little 31s. but at least i got the 5.9L engine.

In the new world order I’ll be considered a terrorist. I have a really bad back that acts up frequently, so I take long showers daily.

HOT LONG SHOWERS.

We could also save water by congregating at her house in DC so we can all pee in her back yard.

Grow my own veggies, and raise my own meat and eggs. Churn my own butter often. Make my own cheese often. Cook from scratch.

Going green is all about teaching leftists how to live as conservatives. You should have your own TV show!

The $19 ones are for small appliances and aren’t designed to carry the current a water heater needs.

The standard full size heater also runs on 230V and the timer needs to be wired in between the breaker and the heater.

We had one on our 80 gallon water heater and it cost $17 plus tax. Got it a a local hardware store in Texas. Of course, that was about 10 years ago and I am sure that a cheaper model (like ours) would be hard to find. My husband retired from an electric company and installed it himself. I am aware of where a timer is supposed to be installed. Couldn’t install it anywhere else. LOLL

I would beg to differ. By simple switching from black built up roofs or black epdm (rubber roofs) to white or reflective roofs, would go a long way to reducing cooling costs (and contribute to the reduction of the urban heat isaland) in all cities in DOE climate zones 1,2,3.
Also inexpensive measuures could be taken-such as conducting energy audits and retrofitting existing building envelopes to eliminate (or at least reduce) air infiltration, which is the greatest cause of high energy bills (and mold infestation by the way).
Existing government buildings, even old ones could be made to be much more energy efficient.
