Have you seen this one? Jared Massey, with his pregnant wife and 15 month old baby, was stopped for speeding. He felt that he was in the right and refused to sign the ticket. Yes, he probably should have gone to court to protest it, but he didn’t. The highway patrolman asked him to get out of the car. Massey said he thought that he wanted to talk to him about the speed limit sign in question so he got out. What transpired next lead Massey to demand and receive, under the freedom of information act, the dashboard video which he subsequently posted on youtube. As of yesterday it’s supposed to have had over 400,000 hits. The Utah Highway Patrol has expedited the investigation into the incident. I can’t see a reason here to taser this person, but maybe I’m being naive.

The ex-cops here can say what they like: citizens stopped for a traffic violation have a right to more dignity than the police are according them.

He doesn’t want to sign a ticket, so it’s “Turn around and put your hands behind your back?”

Seems like it’s getting to the point that a failure to render instantaneous, craven obedience gets you punished by the cops. That’s not the way I want things to be.

I want the cops to be able to protect themselves from danerous people, but at the same time they should give ordinary citizens their dignity.

That post 49 was highly edited I found the rest of the story and the lady was a Jerk but still taser was not the answer and the officer had his video to back up her unrulely behavior!

I saw that video. This happened Sept. 14, and they still haven't completed the investigation. In other words, the cop got off. There are other tasered incidents, including where they tasered a 6 year old, an old woman in a wheelchair (10 times, and each taser lasted from 16-25 seconds...she died). About a dozen years ago, I received an accidental shock, when changing a fluorescent light bulb. Though the volts were few, I vomited several times. I cannot stand static electricity, let alone the volts in those taser guns. Some cops are just sicker than H. I'd rather get clubbed than tasered.
