Apparently not. The story says Mark Cuban (leftist wacko owner of the Dallas Mavericks) offered to sell the movie to De Palma at cost. De Palma was not dumb enough to take the offer.

I hope Depalma invested a lot of HIS money in this project..... Don't know about DePalma. But most of the money came from Mark Cuban, erstwhile internet gazillionnaire and owner of the Dallas Mavericks.
